WASHINGTON, DC: Megyn Kelly and Candace Owens locked horns over whether Harvard students who blamed Israel for atrocities committed by Hamas should be blacklisted by companies.

Kelly, the firebrand host of SiriusXM podcast 'The Megyn Kelly Show,' had earlier lashed out at Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy on Sunday, October 15, for opposing calls to deny employment opportunities to the students who signed a controversial pro-Palestine letter.

What did Vivek Ramaswamy say about pro-Hamas Harvard students?

Ramaswamy, referring to growing calls from business executives to automatically reject the resumes of students whose groups are signatories to the letter, had opposed the move to blacklist those who held Israel responsible for the war rather than Hamas.

The political activist-turned-candidate admitted that the students were "dead wrong," but he didn't think it was “productive to hunt down individual members of college student groups for the purpose of blacklisting them.”

“We don’t hire those who do the killing and we don’t hire those who applaud the killers while the savagery is underway,” Kelly responded to Ramaswamy, adding that if he was “open to hiring one of the lunatics, though, good to know!”

Candace Owens comes to Vivek Ramaswamy's defense

Owens, who works for the news publication Daily Wire, rushed to Ramaswamy's defense and described Kelly’s assertion as “incredibly disingenuous.”

“You know that many of those students are not out there because they want babies to be murdered,” wrote Owens, referencing the 1,300 Israeli civilians killed by Hamas last weekend.

According to her, the college students were "stupid," "young," and simply "experimenting" with ideas as she had done back when she was "radically pro-choice."

“You are an adult woman who is advocating for their lives to be permanently pigeonholed because they have the wrong ideas which are likely being spoon-fed to them in their classrooms,” Owens wrote to Kelly.

Megyn Kelly and Candace Owens engage in war of words

Kelly shot back at Owens. “Being liberal is not the same as taking to the streets to cheer murdered babies and blame said murders on the victims,” the former Fox News anchor insisted. “But you go ahead and hire as many of them as you want Candace.”

Owens responded by insisting that the students were “misguided” and “in need of education, not blacklists.” She then criticized Kelly for tagging her employer's handle on her post and said the move reeked of "inherent pettiness" and "immaturity."

“Would you like a direct contact to management? Help me help you,” Owens wrote to Kelly, who replied, “I talked to them just two weeks ago when they asked me to put you on my show to promote your crime series and I said sure I will do you and Candace that favor.”

Owens apologized that she “couldn’t actually make your show in the end," adding, “Megyn, you seem to be taking this personally."

“I am not attacking you, I am attacking your position that students should be put on blacklists or that the majority of them are genuinely marching to celebrate the death of grandmas overseas,” she continued.

Kelly responded by saying that Owens was “attack[ing] someone who has been nothing but nice to and supportive of you.”

“Then when that person calls you out, you just keep saying ‘I am the mature one!'” she wrote. “Take care, Candace. I wish you well."

Kelly subsequently posted a video addressing Owens defending students who made anti-Israel statements and speaking out about "cancel culture." She "presented" a few candidates for Owens' "internship program."

Fans ask Megyn Kelly and Candace Owen to 'stop fighting'

Both Owens and Kelly have huge fan bases, with considerable overlap in terms of ideology. It was understandable that many wanted the two firebrands to stop fighting within their own camp.

"Stop fighting," one responded on X.

"Let it go," another wrote.

"I appreciate both of your points of view on this and hope y'all will remain friends," someone else chimed in.

"Fight nice girlies!" another quipped
