Meghan McCain says Trump will have 'insane meltdown' if beaten unlike her dad John who lost to Obama with dignity

She said Trump's reactions will be 'extreme polar opposite' to her dad's as there will 'be blame shifting and absolute bedlam anger and hysteria from the Trump family if they lose'

Meghan McCain, a famous anti-Trump Republican and 'The View' co-host who had suggested in the past that she might vote for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden this year, opened up about what she thought President Donald Trump's reaction would be after the election result. She said that contrary to her late father, Senator John McCain (R-AZ), who graciously accepted defeat to his then-liberal opponent Barack Obama during the 2008 election, the current president is unlikely to calmly concede and leave the White House if the results do not go in his favor.

"When my Dad lost in ‘08, he huddled my brothers and sisters in a corner and said buck up, we’re the luckiest people in the entire world and we’re not going to feel sorry for ourselves, we made history. He then thanked the secret service and told them to go home to their family," she tweeted on November 2, a day before the election night. In a follow-up tweet, she wrote, "I predict the extreme polar opposite, insane level of meltdown, blame shifting and absolute bedlam anger and hysteria from the Trump family if they lose...."

A little later she also retweeted a video of her father posted by Washington Post correspondent Rana Abtar which showed a candid John ask the journalist about her identical daughters, remarking how his own mother had an identical twin sister and how "there's a communication amongst them that's really amazing".

Many paid tribute to her father after the tweets. "Your dad was a true American hero and patriot. He was cut from a different cloth than @realDonaldTrump or his family. I miss your dad everyday! He served all of America especially Arizonans!" one said, while another tweeted, "Regardless of party, your dad was truly amazing - but you know that." A third commented, "I was on your dad's campaign in 2008 until Palin. Your dad was a giant among men and seriously warm and fun. We bumped into one another changing planes at Charlotte Airport and he called me his 'Little Maverick'. John McCain was a ROCKSTAR of humanity."

One more user remarked, "I rarely agree with you, but I always thought that your dad was a good guy. I wish you would come out for #Biden like your mom." And someone else opined, "Your Dad handled himself in a 1st class way that night and a few weeks before that here. I only wish we could say the same about the current President."

Many of the Democrats have predicted that President Donald Trump's unproven theory that mail-in ballots are part of a fraudulent scheme to push him out of office was the reason he might not be ready to accept the outcome of the election if he loses to Biden. He has also openly claimed that he will be taking measures to make sure that mail-in ballots are not counted after the election night.

In September when a reporter asked the president: “Win, lose or draw in this election, will you commit here today for a peaceful transferal of power after the election?” He chose not to answer the question and instead, repeating his unsubstantiated claim that mail-in voting could lead to widespread voter fraud, he said, “We're going to have to see what happens. You know that I've been complaining very strongly about the ballots, and the ballots are a disaster."

On Monday, November 2, at a rally in Pennsylvania, Trump said he’ll be sending lawyers to the state after election day if Pennsylvania plans to count ballots received after the polls close. “As soon as that election is over, we’re going in with our lawyers. But we don’t want to have Pennsylvania, where you have a political governor, a very partisan guy… We don’t want to be in a position where he’s allowed to, every day, watch ballots come in. Gee, if we could only find 10,000 more ballots,” Trump said.
