The Duchess of Sussex has no intention of returning to the UK to live there, a friend shared on Monday, January 13.

As reported by Daily Mail, a friend of Meghan Markle's said, "She doesn’t want to raise Archie there, and she doesn’t want to schlep back and forth. She’ll make extended visits, but that’s it." Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their first child, baby Archie in May last year. After his birth, Meghan had revealed that she was "miserable" living in Britain.

She was not sleeping well and was also having anxiety attacks with regards to her future. It was just last week that Harry and Meghan shocked the world with their bombshell announcement that they want to step back from being senior royal members. The post shared by the couple revealed that the couple plan to "work to become financially independent by starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution."

The announcement came after their six-week-long break in Canada. The post also revealed that they had planned to split their time between North America and the UK. The friend also shared that the royal couple is now "looking for a permanent residence in Canada. [Meghan] said she wants a country house in Whistler outside of Vancouver and a home in Toronto."

"What Meghan wants, Meghan gets. This was her plan all along, to eventually leave the UK and build her own empire with Harry," the friend continued. We had previously reported Harry's grandfather Prince Philip was left fuming after his grandson Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's bombshell announcement about quitting being senior royals.

As reported by The Sun, "To say that the Duke feels let down would be a considerable understatement. He spends much of his time now confined to his cottage at Sandringham. But he was spitting blood when aides informed him what had happened. He has left the Queen in absolutely no doubt about how he feels. Philip has accused Harry and Meghan of lacking respect and he is wary of their behavior."

"They did not spend Christmas with the family — which he and the Queen accepted — and now this. His primary concern is the impact this is having on the Queen."
