Oprah Winfrey's interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry has opened up a conversation regarding how differently Markle has been treated compared to other members of the royal family. Some of the shocking revelations led to a major backlash from the online community about how the royal family has stopped funding Markle and Prince Harry but continues to keep Prince Andrew on the payroll.

This was a result of Prince Harry's confession in the interview that, "I’ve got what my mum left me, and without that, we would not have been able to do this.” He added, "It’s like she saw it coming and she’s been with us through this whole process." It was when Prince Harry and Markle had stepped down from their royal duties that they were financially cut off.

One fan wrote, "Paedophile Prince Andrew is being funded to this day by The Queen’s Duchy of Lancaster estate but they had Meghan and Harry looking for spare room at the inn like Mary and Joseph in Bethlehem. I will be telling my grandkids about this #HarryandMeghanonOprah."

Another fan wrote, "'It’s telling that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s sit-down with Oprah is considered more of a threat to palace interests than Prince Andrew’s Newsnight interview. As long as you do nothing to expose the inner-workings of the palace machine, you get to stay within the circle.'"

Another Twitter user wrote, "...tired of the narrative the The Queen is some sweet little old lady...she is complicit and knows EXACTLY what she’s doing... Stripping Harry and Meghan of their security at the HEIGHT of the death threats being flung at them but Prince Andrew is afforded grace? F**k her." One user also pointed out, "Yes, that’s part of the hypocrisy. Prince Andrew is no longer a member of the senior working royals & yet he keeps his titles & financial support in spite of his scandal. But Harry & Meagan are stripped of everything over prejudice?"

One user shared the royal biographer's account of Markle and wrote, "Royal family biographer Lady Colin Campbell says Meghan Markle is 'graceless' and 'classless' and that Princess Diana would’ve been 'appalled' by her. 'I’m not sure who she thinks she is'.” Replying to this, another user wrote, "So talking about her in-laws' abhorrent behavior is "classless", but Prince Andrew's gross shenanigans are hunky dory?"

One tweet pointed out, "This interview was far less embarrassing than the photo of Prince Andrew pawing a trafficked teenage girl & the recording of Charles telling his frumpy mistress that he wanted to be 'her tampon.' The royals were embarrassing themselves long before Meghan arrived." Another remarked: "Said it before, but I find it astounding that the great English public, the media & commentariat get so feverishly outrage at Meghan Markle while simultaneously ignoring Prince Andrew. F**king very unhealthy, if you ask me."

Princess Diana left a fortune of £12,966,022 to her two sons Prince William and Prince Harry, which was reduced to £8,502,330 after death duties. The two were, however, allowed access to the same only when they turned 30.
