Meghan Markle's mother Doria Ragland secretly traveled to the UK amidst Thomas Markle's public outbursts: Reports
If the latest report is to be believed, Doria Ragland is said to have made a secret trip to England this summer to visit her daughter, Meghan Markle. The visit came amidst growing media controversy, according to reports, with Thomas Markle, father of the Duchess of Sussex, continuing with his public jabs aimed at the newlywed couple, Prince Harry and Meghan.
It's no secret that Ragland has been planning to make a move to the UK from her Los Angeles home to stay close to her daughter, as per many a tabloid reports. However, what was hitherto unknown was the social worker's hush-hush trip to the UK back in July, around the same time when Harry and Meghan were spending time at their Oxfordshire home. And the reason for the visit? To comfort the Duchess as her estranged father launched a series of attacks targetting the royal duo.
The news comes from royal correspondent Omid Scobie, who recently made an appearance on 'Good Morning America' to talk about Ragland's under the radar travel. Apparently, the mother of the Duchess of Sussex visited Prince Harry and her daughter for an extended stay at their Oxfordshire home this summer," as revealed by the royal commentator. While Scobie didn't confirm a previous report by Express, claiming that the visit was to comfort Meghan, he did assure that the mother of the royal shares "a close relationship with Harry and continues to be a pillar of strength for Meghan." This news has not been confirmed by anyone at the Kensington Palace or even by the royal couple themselves.
The latest update adds fuel to previous reports that Meghan's mother might be shifting to England for good. "She is getting ready to move to London. I think she will be going as soon as possible. I know that she was eager to live closer to her daughter. She also fell in love with England and told me when she got back that it’s somewhere she believes she too could happily live," a source close to Ragland had dished.
As another neighbor added how Doria and Meghan share a really close mother-daughter bond. "Doria and Meghan have always been inseparable. Doria is beside herself with excitement at the thought of moving to London," the so-called source had said.
Now whether or not the UK trip and the plans for a shift is prompted by Meghan's father's unprecedented outbursts, it remains unclear. In a candid chat with the Mail last month, in fact, Thomas had revealed how he dramatically hung up on Harry amidst a heated telephonic conversation. “If you had listened to me this would never have happened,” the prince apparently said during the call, to which Thomas responded, “Maybe it would be better for you guys if I was dead... then you could pretend to be sad."
