Why has Palace not issued statement on Meghan's interview? Unreleased handout spoke of 'family’s love, concern'
With Meghan Markle and Prince Harry unleashing a no-holds-barred whammy on the royal family in the form of their interview with Oprah Winfrey, the world awaits a response from the other end. The Royal family has been maintaining radio silence.
Multiple reports have suggested that the Queen is formulating a response with sources saying Buckingham Palace has "been paralyzed with 'horror and dismay'" following the couple's mind-numbing revelations. However, it did appear that there was an unreleased statement that was already drafted. Royal Central's Charlie Proctor reported the unapproved statement "would have highlighted the family’s love and concern for the couple."

Why has a statement not been issued yet?
Reports have suggested the Queen is yet to come to a decision and that a statement would be released once she has considered the situation. The Prince of Wales and the Duke of Cambridge were all involved in "crisis" talks with the Queen on how to react to the accusations made by Meghan and Prince Harry.
The fact that the earlier statement which would have been a fire extinguisher of sorts has been called off, leads to the speculation that the Royal family have some missiles of their own to launch. The Queen has some support coming in from Prime Minister Boris Johnson who remarked he had the highest admiration for her, although he steered clear of the accusations of racism made by the couple.
As per a Politico report, the PM said: "The best thing I can say is I’ve always had the highest admiration for the queen and the unifying role that she plays in our country and across the Commonwealth. As for the rest, all other matters to do with the royal family, I’ve spent a long time now not commenting on royal family matters and I don’t intend to depart from that today." When prodded further, he added: "When it comes to matters to do with the royal family the right thing for prime ministers to say is nothing. And nothing is the thing that I propose to say today."
Meanwhile, it is safe to say that turmoil has engulfed the royal family after a Palace insider highlighted the mood in the camp. According to the Daily Mail, the atmosphere was as that of "intense personal shock and sadness" and how Harry had pressed the "nuclear button on his own family".
Daniela Relph, BBC's royal correspondent said: "it is increasingly unsustainable for Buckingham Palace to say nothing" about Prince Harry and Meghan's revelations. She said the Palace "will not want to feel rushed into saying something."
