MCU Phase 4 may see the Enchantress play the villain in 'Thor: Love and Thunder' and in 'The Falcon and The Winter Solider'

This theory comes after Enchantress was a villain making the rounds for being one of the antagonists in 'Thor: Love and Thunder'. Incidentally, she is also part of Zemo's evil gang. Meanwhile, Zemo is set to return as the baddie in 'The Falcon and The Winter Soldier'

MCU's Infinity saga saw the formation of the Avengers. Over time, the team went from six superheroes to 27 as they united to take on their most formidable foe in Thanos (Josh Brolin).  Since we're talking about Thanos, we might as well have a look at a few villains who like the mad Titan have recurred in some of these movies. Starting off with Loki (Tom Hiddleston) who played a villain-turned protagonist in six films.

The other character who reprised his role in three films was the Red Skull from 'Captain America: The First Avenger'. He later appeared in 'Avengers: Infinity War' and 'Avengers: Endgame'.  Given how the villains' recurring role added meat and depth to their character arcs and the plotlines, Marvel may be tempted to stick to the same template in Phase 4. With the upcoming stage comprising of mini-series and movies, it is safe to assume that there will be ample references and character introductions, who may be a part of both platforms.  At this moment, there aren't many details out there on who could be the big bads for these movies and series.

Should Marvel stick to the template of recurring villains, then we may possibly see the Enchantress as one of the antagonists in Phase 4 who would make multiple appearances. Amora aka Enchantress has been Thor's longtime foe in the comics and is yet to make her MCU debut. Her right-hand henchman, the Executioner, however, has already made an appearance. Amora is a sorceress and usually comes across as a seductive character waiting for an opportunity to lure Thor away from Jane Foster.

She first appeared in the comics, 'Journey into Mystery' #103. With the new storyline involving the return of Foster, the time seems right for the Enchantress to make an appearance in 'Thor: Love and Thunder' and then reprise her role in the Disney + mini-series, 'The Falcon and The Winter Soldier'.

According to the comics, she and the Executioner are exiled to Earth by Odin where they become members of Baron Heinrich Zemo's original 'Masters of Evil', the opposites of the 'Avengers'. The plot here may have to twist a bit since the Executioner is pretty much dead after he sacrifices himself to save the people in 'Thor: Ragnarok'. The Enchantress being banished part may apply as Baron Zemo is still out there and he'll be seen in 'The Falcon and The Winter Soldier'.

There are reasons why Enchantress can be a part of the mini-series. 'The Falcon and The Winter Soldier' debuts in 2020 and assuming it spans multiple seasons, we may see Zemo, another recurring villain, assemble the 'Masters of Evil'— A team that sees Black Knight, Melter, Radioactive Man, Enchantress, Executioner and Wonder Man plot to destroy the Avengers and take over the world.  As of now it is still unclear how 'Love and Thunder' may turn out, but if Enchantress is part of the film and is defeated in the end by Foster, we may see her come to earth to exact revenge as it is Foster's home. At that point, Zemo may probably give her that chance and to stop them, the first line of defense would be Sam Wilson aka Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes aka Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan).

All this, of course, is pure speculation, but then maybe it's time to get the evil supervillains together. Maybe that way, we'll have another Avengers reunion. But that's again a discussion tabled for later.

'Thor: Love and Thunder' releases on November 5, 2021, and 'The Falcon and The Winter Soldier' premieres in Fall 2020.
