MCU Phase 4: 'She-Hulk' shouldn't see Bruce Banner make an appearance on the show, here's why

Considering 'Ms. Marvel' will make appearances in the movies, and be featured alongside Captain Marvel, the writers may be tempted to bring in Banner in some degree, but again, that would just shift the focus from the new superhero

'She-Hulk' is the latest entrant to the superhero club in MCU's Phase 4. The D23 Expo announced that Bruce Banner's cousin will have her own mini-series on Disney + and for now, we're pretty sure it's not going to be an origin story. More on that later though. For now,  let's talk about Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo played the part to perfection in the movies) making an appearance on the show. Ideally, he shouldn't. And, we have our reasons.

Personally, we think the series is all about  Jennifer Walters and her alter-ego, She-Hulk.  Getting the Hulk in would mean the spotlight would shift from the new superhero. While we do appreciate Banner being the mentor, it won't do the show much good. Besides, the lady isn't just about this green rage monster. She's a lawyer by profession (Pretty sure keeping her stress levels down is a challenge), and that will be factored in while creating the storyline as well. This means we'd get to see two characters in one show. A superhero and a kick-ass lawyer. Adding Banner in this mix wouldn't really bode well as there isn't room for three people.

Marvel

Banner played an instrumental role in 'Avengers: Endgame'. Not just did he make peace with his alter-ego, but was responsible for wearing the Stark gauntlet, and snapping the dead back. It cost him an arm though, quite literally.  That he's one wing down means he's probably not at his powerful best, and in many ways, his character was rounded up neatly in 'Endgame'. He doesn't have problems fitting in the regular world anymore. This was evident when we saw him interact with kids as the Smart Hulk post-Thanos' snap.  Now that's two more reasons for why we don't need the man in 'She-Hulk'.  Most importantly, the She-Hulk's entrance also signifies filling in the void Banner left. In his absence as Hulk, the world needs another 'Mr. Smash'. She-Hulk may come in as the new-gen hero and not only would she fill in perfectly for Banner, she's also got the smarts to not cause wanton destruction.

Considering 'Ms. Marvel' will make appearances in the movies, and be featured alongside Captain Marvel, the writers may be tempted to bring in Banner in 'She-Hulk' to some degree, but again, that would just shift the focus from the new superhero. For now, there's not a lot of info to go with when it comes to the plot, meaning we don't know if there are ideas penciled for Banner's appearance again in the MCU. For now, let's sincerely hope 'She-Hulk' will be all about Walters.  No release date has been announced for the show yet.
