On Saturday, it was reported that Matthew Perry, 54, was found dead after drowning in a jacuzzi in his own home. After the news broke, people all over the internet were heartbroken, recalling the show and the obstacles he's overcome in life after years of struggling with addiction.

The official ‘Friends’ account on X, formerly Twitter, shared the news of Perry’s passing, “We are devastated to learn of Matthew Perry’s passing. He was a true gift to us all. Our heart goes out to his family, loved ones, and all of his fans.”

Heartbroken fans were distraught over Matthew Perry's death and tried to comfort each other by sharing humorous memes and clips from the show.

Fans posted gifs, clips, memes, and photos of Chandler Bing from the sitcom.

One person simply wrote, “💔💔💔” along with a picture of Chandler with the character's quote from the show, “We swallow our feelings, even if we’re unhappy forever. Sounds good?”

“RIP Chandler Bing,” wrote one user, as they shared an image of Joey and Chandler hugging, and another wrote, “Joey is incomplete without Chandler,” with a picture of Joey next to an empty Barcalounger.

One user also said, “We lost a friend, rest in peace Mathew Perry,” alongside a picture of Perry, with text that related to the title of every ‘Friends’ episode, “The one where we lost a friend.”

Some remembered him from his TV guide name on the show, writing, “So long, Miss Chanandler Bong,” along with which they added a gif of Chandler looking out of a watery glass piece after Joey moved out.
