NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On Thursday, September 28, Republican Matt Gaetz has officially introduced an amendment to reduce USAID’s (United States Agency for International Development) federal funding by $4.5 billion.
Following this announcement, Gaetz shared his decision by posting it all his social media and sharing the video of his speech at Pensacola, Crestview, Fort Walton Beach.
Gaetz announcement was applauded by the internet as they called him a “beacon of hope.”

On X, formerly known as Twitter, Republican Matt Gaetz wrote, “Today I'm introducing an amendment to reduce USAID’s federal funding by $4.5 billion dollars. We should focus on the economic development of our own country. #AmericaFirst.”

His tweet featured a clip from his speech where he made the announcement and reflected on his decision.
Gaetz added, “This amendment reduces the amount of funding allocated to USAID by $4.5 billion. As I’ve mentioned earlier, USAID is a vehicle through which the American tax payer pays for economic development in other countries.”
He continued, “I think instead we should spend more money on economic development of our own country and actually if we spent less money overall, we probably would see less inflation, more prosperity, and the type of economic growth that we saw during President Trump’s time in office.”
“USAID may have started with laudable goals but today they are promoting abortion globally with American tax dollars, they are pushing President Biden’s National gender strategy. I never thought we needed a National gender strategy. But if we need National gender strategy, can we at least not spend so much money promoting it abroad. Silly,” Gaetz said.
