Maryland man who ripped off 12-year-old girl's shirt and molested her while his wife was in labor faces upto 20 years in jail
MONTGOMERY VILLAGE, MARYLAND: A Maryland man has been accused of molesting a 12-year-old girl on two different occasions, including one time when his wife was in labor.
The 29-year-old Luis Perez-Giron has been charged with two accounts of third-degree sexual offenses by the Montgomery County Police Department in Montgomery Village.
According to court records received by WJLA, Perez-Giron knew the victim because her mother was his wife's close friend. Obtained records reveal that the first incident occurred during a get-together between the two families at the accused's house.
The 12-year-old victim was reportedly sitting in Perez-Giron's room along with her two-year-old sister and the accused's five-year-old son listening to music when he entered the room.
While the adults continued to have a conversation in the main living area, the accused allegedly sat on the bed next to the victim and started to kiss her neck. He also touched her breasts and genitalia during the encounter in the room.
After the encounter, Perez-Giron told the victim that if she told her mother he would come to her house and hurt her family. The second incident occurred at the victims' house on May 8. After his wife went into labor, he asked the victim's mother to look after his son while she went to the hospital.
The victim was alone at home when Perez-Giron arrived at her house a little while later and let himself into the apartment. Afraid of him, she hid in the bathroom. After a while, she left the bathroom thinking Perez-Giron had left the apartment. However, he was still inside the house and allegedly took her to the couch where he continued to touch her breasts and remove her pants. She managed to escape and run back into the bathroom.
She later tried to leave the bathroom again and did not see the accused in the apartment. Court records revealed that he was hiding in the closet and attacked her when she came out of the bathroom. He pushed her and the fall caused her to slice her hand.
He allegedly shoved her onto the couch, ripped her shirt off and started to touch her breasts. He again tried to remove her pants but the victim managed to fight the accused again.
He also threatened her not to tell anyone in the future or he would attack her again. Court records also showed that he told the victim that he was going to rape her when she turned 13.
Perez-Giron is currently being held without bond and can spend at least 20 years behind bars if he is convicted. Esteban Gergely, Perez-Giron's lawyer, shared that his client denies the allegations. The accused is a Guatemalan native who has three children.
He was working as a mechanic until his arrest. He was earlier arrested in 2017 for first-degree assault, second-degree assault, resisting, arrest and public intoxication. His preliminary hearing is on September 6 at the Montgomery County District Court.
