Trump's niece Mary repulsed by RNC speech: 'Donald thinks Joe Biden is president and we have to save the country'

'If the country is a place of division and decadence as he describes it, then I would think that is down to him as he is currently in the Oval Office,' Mary said

Mary L Trump, the controversial niece of President Donald J Trump, has said she was "repulsed" and "heartbroken" by his fiery speech at the Republican National Convention Thursday night.

Speaking to MSNBC, the author of a tell-all book on the Trump family said there was nothing surprising about the president's nomination acceptance speech, which she called "monarchical" and "bizarrely convoluted."

She went on to blame her uncle for making the US a country of "division and decadence" and noted how Trump spoke of his 2020 Democratic challenger as if he was already occupying the Oval Office.

"Nothing surprises me about what happened, but like you, I'm repulsed, I'm heartbroken," Mary Trump said during an appearance on MSNBC's The 11th Hour last night. "The monarchical faints and the bizarrely convoluted messaging."

"If you listen to Ivanka it's like she's co-presidenting with her father, if you listen to Donald, it's like he thinks Joe Biden is president now and we have to save the country from Joe Biden," she continued. "But if the country is a place of division and decadence as he describes it, then I would think that is down to him as he is currently in the Oval Office."

Mary said it was "impossible" for her to keep up with the "lies" during the commander-in-chief's 70-minute long acceptance speech outside the White House.

"I see nothing admirable about this man, not one thing," she said. "He has no redeeming characteristics in my view. He's incompetent, he's unworthy, and all of the other things we could say about him."

Trump lambasted Biden's almost 50-year record in politics as he delivered a passionate speech on the fourth and final day of the RNC. He also portrayed the former vice president as a 'Trojan horse' for a supposedly socialist Democratic Party platform.

"At no time before have voters faced a clearer choice between two parties, two visions, two philosophies or two agendas," Trump told his supporters outside the White House. "This election will decide if we save the American dream or allow a socialist agenda to demolish our cherished destiny." Trump also quipped that Biden's agenda was "made in China" and painted himself as the most hawkish president when it came to dealing with China.

In response to the president's comments, Biden 2020 campaign's Deputy Campaign Manager Kate Bedingfield said Trump had presented a "delusional vision" for the country. "It has never been more clear than Donald Trump made it tonight: we are in a battle for the soul of our nation," she said

That said, this is barely the first time the president's niece has gone after him. In July, we reported how Mary claimed that her uncle's "incapability to govern, especially amid a health crisis, could be traced back to his childhood."

"Donald is a psychologically deeply damaged man, based on his upbringing and the situation with his parents," she told CNN's Chris Cuomo July 17. "He is not going to get better and he is without question going to get worse."

Mary's comments came after her explosive book, 'Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man,' sold nearly a million copies on its first day, which was a first-day record for its publisher, Simon & Schuster.
