'Marvel's What If...' Avengers Infinity War could imagine the original six avengers being snapped away

2018's 'Avengers Infinity War' left us in speechless shock, as we saw our favorite heroes withering away into ashes after Thanos' (Josh Brolin) snap. Though 'Endgame' brought most of them back, we lost Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), who sacrificed himself to reverse the effects of the snap.

But what if Wanda had destroyed the mind stone in Infinity War? What if the original avengers had been snapped away instead of the rest? What if Peter Quill had controlled his anger when meeting Thanos? What if Starlord had joined the Wakanda battle? The possibilities are endless, and 'Marvel's What If', an animated series, promises to look into some pretty cool alternate storylines. Here are some theories.

What if the original avengers had been snapped away?

'Marvel's What If' could see Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Hulk and Thor being snapped away instead of the others. Now that would be pretty intriguing. Who would Ant-Man contact on his return from Quantum? It would be fun to see Spider-Man, Starlord along with the Guardians, Dr Strange, Falcon, Scarlet Witch and Black Panther devise new methods of avenging the fallen. How would they manage time travel without Iron Man's help? And even if they somehow did, it would be entertaining to see them looking for the stones in the battle of New York, and scrounging around in Asgard without Thor's help.

What if Wanda had destroyed the Mind Stone before Thanos caught hold of the Time Stone?

One of the most heartbreaking scenes in Infinity War, was watching Vision (Paul Bettany) die twice. He requests Wanda (Elisabeth Olsen) to destroy the Mind Stone embedded in his head, and she struggles to demolish it, while holding off a five-stone Thanos. She manages to do so, but Thanos uses the Time Stone, brings Vision back, just to take the stone out of his head, killing him for good. However, what if Wanda had actually destroyed the mind stone before Thanos had possessed the Time Stone? Well, then, the earth would be saved, and Thanos could probably have been defeated. Wanda would have just been left with a broken heart.

What if Dr Strange did not give up the Time Stone and let Iron Man die instead?

Dr Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) had kept a somewhat indifferent stance till the end, even hinting that he would let people die rather than give up the stone. However, he gives up the Time Stone, when Iron Man's life is at stake. What if Dr Strange had just kept the Time Stone and watched Iron Man die instead? Well, Thanos would have to then kill him for it, leaving poor Spider-Man traumatized for life.
