'Marvel's What If...?' could see Ant-Man being snapped away and Wasp convincing Avengers for time heist
Before 'Marvel's What If', here's a re-imagining of what could have happened if one plot detail had been changed in the Ant-Man films.
'Marvel's What If...?' is all about the different angles the films could have taken, had just one crucial plot detail been changed. The show will be the first to have animated content on Disney+ and will be inspired by the comics and the premise. The series will have numerous plotlines and will be explained from the point of view of Uatu, The Watcher (voiced by Jeffrey Watcher).
One interesting aspect that could be explored is what if Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) had been snapped away and Hope (Evangeline Lilly) survived? Well, for starters, this completely changes the events in 'Avengers Endgame', as there would have been no Ant-Man to come and tell the rest of the Avengers about conducting the time heist. Instead, it would be Hope, to go and look for the remaining Avengers, even though she has had no interaction with them, prior to this. That would actually have made for an interesting storyline. It would have been fun to watch her sting Iron-Man in all the chaos, during their Battle Of New York, revisit.
Alternately, in the first film, what if Darren Cross had succeeded in giving the Yellowjacket and Ant-Man suits to Hydra? This would have hastened the rebirth of Hydra, and given the enormous amount of power and given them a chance to reassert their dominance. Scott would have to go through exhausting lengths to get it back, probably enlisting the help of the Avengers, which might open up several new storylines.
Another possibility could be, what if Hank Pym just decided to keep Yellowjacket? In the comics, he had gone through some dark times, just wearing the suit. The story would have then revolved around how his daughter Hope would have to wear the Ant-Man suit and save her father.
'Marvel's What If', airs in 2021 on Disney+.
