Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, lets fans in on MCU plans "between now and 2024"

'Captain Marvel' — slated for a March release next year — and 'Avengers 4' that arrives later in May would make up for the most of Marvel's slate in the first half of 2019.

Back to back, Disney-owned Marvel Studios has delivered three blockbusters in 2018 alone, beginning with 'Black Panther' in February, April's release 'Avengers: Infinity War', and the latest 'Ant-Man and the Wasp'. Given the pace and style in which the Marvel Cinematic Universe is currently moving there is no stopping for this billion-dollar superhero movie franchise. If anything in the light of the recent hits fans would be looking forward to the next slate of releases, 'Captain Marvel' and 'Avengers 4'.

But what after that? How will the MCU take shape once the untitled fourth Avengers movie has wrapped up the ongoing phase III of the franchise? Will there be newer additions? What about the core Avengers team? These are just a few of the question on the minds of the legion of fans, who have religiously followed MCU over the past 10 years and across 20 movies.

Thankfully for them, Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige is here to share some early insight, offering a glimpse into what the next six years of the comic book-based movie universe would look like.

"The main strategy," he said, dishing about the plans in a recent interview with BirthMoviesDeath "is that in many ways I feel like we’re still in the midst of delivering on the promise from that last event! We’ve still got Captain Marvel and Avengers 4. Those are the big ones left to go, having just finished this. So it’s about completing the promise before you start promising a whole lot of other things."

Indeed, 'Captain Marvel' — slated for a March release next year — and 'Avengers 4' that arrives later in May would make up for the most of Marvel's slate in the first half of 2019. Following which, the focus would shift to a shared corner of the universe 'Spider-Man: Far From Home' and the Galaxy saga.

"Obviously, people are aware of Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Guardians 3, which James [Gunn] gets into prep on very soon. Outside of that, we like the idea of having the world do what we’re doing, which is focusing on the immediate future," Feige said adding, "Once that happens, we will — I don’t know that we’ll do exactly the same kind of thing, that many years out — but there are secret vaulted doors in Marvel Studios that lead to essentially what we’ll be doing between now and 2024.

Perhaps one highlight of the future plans would be a certain Black Widow standalone movie, which for the longest time has been on the docket, eagerly awaiting a green light from the Marvel bosses.

Without dishing out more than he should, Feige simply sparked hope for the Scarlett Johansson movie, saying, "We’ve started to, yes, within the last six months or so we’ve started to engage on certain developmental levels on a lot of those things going forward."
