'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.': Clark Gregg, Chloe Bennet retweet fan's request of releasing final season early
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D' has seen seven successful seasons and the eighth is slated to hit the world this year. While abc has not confirmed a release date for the final season, some fans couldn't wait, especially with the coronavirus preventing them from heading outdoors.
According to Comicbook, a particular fan took to Twitter and tweeted the network that they would drop the season so fans have something to look forward to and in what followed was a surprise that would have probably made his day. The series stars, Clark Gregg and Chloe Bennet retweeted the fan's message that read: "I'm just saying @abc since we are all in self-quarantine, maybe you could drop us the final season of Agents of Shield a little early," Can't hurt to ask!"
Gregg and Bennet arguable play the show's two most important characters in Phil Coulson and Daisy Johnson. The site also added that EP Jed Whedon teased a massive ending. “There are some bonkers episodes, some of our most purely entertaining episodes, and we hope people enjoy them as much as we did. We definitely swung for the fences."
Fans immediately leaped at the opportunity with a major chunk of them seconding the thought. "Yessss drop us the season of AOS... We need something to keep us sane," a fan wrote. One fan just wanted the release date. "I just need a release date. If I know exactly when it’s coming out then it gives me something to hope for."
"Sounds good to me! I just finished catching up all the first 6 seasons and I don't want to wait for Season 7!" read another fan tweet. This one's clearly not among the hopefuls, He just wants a trailer. "@abc at least give us a trailer?" Here's an interesting theory from a fan who said, "Let all hope that it may appear on Disney+ because they own everything now" Now we wouldn't be surprised if that happens.
