Martha Stewart has just shown on the latest episode of 'Martha Knows Best' that she isn't just a domestic goddess, but also a great help when the need arises. On her new HGTV show 'Martha Knows Best', the hostess caught up with her talk show host friend Jay Leno. Jay, who received a pomegranate tree as a gift from Martha many years ago, still has no clue what to do with it.

So, he turns to the lifestyle guru for help. As soon as Martha calls him, he begins ranting about how an appropriate gift for an Italian man in his twilight years is a tomato tree and not a pomegranate one. When Martha points out that pomegranate too has Roman origins, Jay jokes that pomegranates were for rick Romans and not poor ones like him. After he vents out to his heart's content about how pomegranate tree was the wrong choice of gift for him, he seeks Martha's help with what to do with his pomegranate produce. The hostess then decides to walk him through the process of cutting open the delicious fruit. During the process, she spills out so many sassy lines that we were left chuckling at her dark and wry humor.

Martha starts off by showing Jay how to hold the fruit while cutting it and tells him to cut it longitudinally. She then asks him to stab the fruit at the bottom and twist the knife. When Jay looked like he was having a bit of trouble with following her instructions, she switches from her domestic goddess persona to her "gangster" persona. She advises Jay to twist the knife "gently like you're digging into someone's neck!"

While we weren't sure about Martha's gruesomely graphic analogy, it seems to have worked because Jay was immediately able to follow through Martha's instructions and sliced open the fruit without spilling the "pomegranate blood". Once the fruit is open, she then moves on to teaching Jay how to best get the pomegranate arils out of the fruit without spilling the blood or making a mess in the kitchen. If you thought Martha was done with the usage of graphic analogies to teach her friend how to cut open a fruit, you might want to hold your horses.

She asks Jay to pull out a wooden spoon or spatula and begin whacking the fruit in the back. Surprisingly, the trick worked for we saw the arils fall into the bowl. Martha jokes that it is a good way to get all the frustration out. Well, who knew that cutting open a fruit could also be such a stress buster?

'Martha Knows Best' airs every Friday at 10/9c only on HGTV.
