Marrying rich comes with its fair share of consequences. The unhealthy wealth gap doesn't seem much when you're in love but when the honeymoon phase is over and you're faced with the real world, one sees how the contrasting socio-economic backgrounds can come to be a major red flag. Lifetime's 'Marrying Millions' explores relationships that chart this particular path.

The first season premiered with six couples — Sean Lourdes and Megan Thomas Lourdes, Bill Hutchinson and Brianna Ramirez, Katie Hamilton and Kolton Pierce, Drew Gemma and Rosie Marin, Gentille Chun and Brian Bru, and Shawn Isaac and Kate London — of which a few made the cut, walked down the aisle and wrote their happily ever afters.

Sean and Megan

While we are on the topic of happy endings, let's learn a little about where this couple is at. They recently celebrated their first anniversary and even took a trip to Dubai to spend some quality family time. But, that was not how they started.

Sean took over his father Emilio Lourdes's publishing company, AUGE Media, in the late 1990s and naturally, has quite the wealth that needs managing. And that factor alone pushed Emilio to get Sean to sign a prenup, which he didn't and that decision has worked in his favor so far.

Drew and Rosie

Theirs was quite the ending. The couple got married and have stayed married but not before there were a few tense moments, which almost had viewers convinced that they won't say their I Dos. Rosie's parents were not convinced and no one in her life had any inkling of the big step she was going to take. However, they managed to go from there to being in a happy place and her Instagram is proof of it.

Katie and Kolton

This pair seemed like they were ready to tackle anyone who told them they were not a right fit but that approach faded along the way. The couple split shortly after their stint on the show and we know why. "After the season ended, Katie told me ‘the age and wealth gap is a huge thing for me. I’m done’ which absolutely blindsided me," Kolton told Cheatsheet. Apparently, she even blocked Kolton on every social platform there is. Katie was previously married to baseball player Josh Hamilton.

Shawn and Kate

They may not be together but the couple is still on talking and friendly terms, which is unlikely. The breakups are unusually nasty in such cases but Shawn and Kate have tried to keep it as civil as possible. But not before they fought over the fake diamond bracelet that he got her. It was a mess.
