Was Heavenly, Damon Kimes' Covid-19 testing a sham? Here's the truth about 'Married to Medicine' stars
The pandemic forced the world to stay locked behind the doors and work out of homes but the entertainment industry just couldn't stay put. Like 'Married to Medicine', several other TV shows resumed filming and that is how Covid-19 and the Black Lives Matter movement came to be such a huge part of their narratives.
Dr Heavenly and Dr Damon Kimes started a Covid-19 testing drive when the pandemic was at its peak. On July 18, 2020, the couple installed 64 mobile testing booths at the World Changers Church International in College Park, GA. This was a huge event, a part of which was documented on the Bravo-backed show.
When the news broke, the people of the area and fans couldn't stop praising the good work and service they were doing to the community. However, guest star Lisa Nicole Cloud had a completely different opinion about the testing drive. Talking to All About Tea, she asked if what the Kimes couple did was for the cameras only. She didn't confirm that the two did what they did just to look good on camera but there was definitely dissing there.
"I wouldn’t say we should be arguing about Covid testing, but I will say that I had been doing Covid testing since the pandemic hit. I own a diagnostic laboratory, so we actually have ACLA, we run Covid testing and so we’ve been out in the community from day one, trying to make a difference and service underserved communities," she told the outlet before sharing her thoughts on Heavenly and Damon's big move.
"And right around the time that the cameras started rolling is all of a sudden when you see Heavenly and Dr Damon doing Covid testing," Lisa said and continued: "I’m not saying they didn’t want to make a difference. I’m just saying I don’t know if it was for the camera or they really wanted to be of service to the community." The 'Married to Medicine' star confirmed that the couple is not manning those testing booths any longer and this was done once the cameras were off. Since this interview was published after the season was filmed, it wouldn't be wrong to say that it's going to be a hot topic when the reunion episodes premiere.
