'Married At First Sight': Katie rubbishes Derek's dream of writing Christmas song, fans call her 'The Grinch'
Derek Sherman and Katie Conrad have been experiencing issues in their marriage lately. Even though there's no way to know who's at fault, fans think Katie should quit being so hard on Derek because he's doing all he can.
In this week's episode, 'Move In or Move Out', Derek and Katie's night-in together snowballed into a war of words, during which she accused him of having dreams that were unrealistic and that it would require a lot of effort and time from him to be able to achieve it. Even though Derek agreed to what Katie had to say, he didn't appreciate her not being fully supportive of his dreams. The two slept in different rooms, with Derek taking the couch.
Derek wishes to make treehouses and write Christmas songs. And Katie thinks it would steer his attention away from their marriage, which could be an issue especially after him telling her that he won't be able to fall in love with her anytime soon.
But they are both emotional about their bond and realize that there's a solid friendship that they share. While Katie cried as she realized how much she wants Derek to be a part of her life, he only wishes if she can work towards being more accommodating of his choices.
Marriages are not as easy as it may seem at first. It needs work and requires both parties involved to understand one another by keeping channels of communication open. Derek and Katie hugged each other as she said she wouldn't ever judge his Christmas song.
Meanwhile, fans are furious because Katie has put tons of restrictions on Derek, which is unfair.
