The wedding and honeymoon episodes of 'Married at First Sight' come with their own share of drama but the real action starts when the couples move in together. Seeing that they are then forced to have some very real conversations like finances, futures and family, this can often prove to be a deal-breaker.

Myrla and Gil seem to be trying to make their marriage work, but the differences are absolutely glaring. Finances have always been the main issue between the two of them and as they sat to talk finances, it seemed like it was going to continue to be an issue.

When they were discussing their monthly finances, Myrla made it clear that despite her spending habits, she has saved considerable amount money for her future. Gil, on the other hand, barely had any savings. He mentioned that his money was saved in Columbia and even brought up his 401K. Fans saw this as a massive red flag.

"Not for nothin' but the way Gil was pocket watching Myrla only to be shocked at how much she's actually saved. Meanwhile, he needed to explain his own finances #hatetoseeit #MAFS #MarriedAtFirstSight" tweeted a fan. "I'm not feeling Myrla, but Gil going on and on about how much money she spends while his savings is "somewhere else" has moved me completely over to her side. #teammyrla #mafs" added another.

"I don't wanna hear shit about whether Myrla shopping is smart. Cause what isn't SMART is having all of your savings tied up in Colombia like your a drug lord on the run. #MAFS" said a fan. "Gil looking at Myrlas savings account. Myrla looking at Gils savings account. #mafs #MarriedAtFirstSight" mentioned another. "Gil can't question how much Myrla spends on things when she's been taking care of herself and paying her bills. She's not in debt and has a savings account. She clearly makes way more than he does and is smart with her $. #MarriedAtFirstSight #MAFS" said a fan. "All of the opinions about Myrla suddenly changing when they see how financially stable she is. She earned everything she has. #MAFS #MarriedAtFirstSight" tweeted a user.

To understand the situation better, as a leadership coach, Myrla makes a minimum of $200k, as reported by Reddit. Gil, on the other hand, who is a firefighter, make significantly less. As per The Houston Fire Department, firefighters can make anywhere between $43,528 to $52,644, depending on their years of experience. While Captain, Communications Captain, Inspector, Investigator, Mechanic (5th - 9th year) make up to $64,273, which is the highest in the field. However, he did mention that he has been saving since he was 22, but has clearly not managed to get his finances in place. Myrla, even though she has expensive tastes, mentioned that her credit card bill is always paid and has savings in addition to that, implying that she has financially taken care of herself.
