'Married at First Sight' star Myrla proves she's better at saving money than Gil
The wedding and honeymoon episodes of 'Married at First Sight' come with their own share of drama but the real action starts when the couples move in together. Seeing that they are then forced to have some very real conversations like finances, futures and family, this can often prove to be a deal-breaker.
Myrla and Gil seem to be trying to make their marriage work, but the differences are absolutely glaring. Finances have always been the main issue between the two of them and as they sat to talk finances, it seemed like it was going to continue to be an issue.

To understand the situation better, as a leadership coach, Myrla makes a minimum of $200k, as reported by Reddit. Gil, on the other hand, who is a firefighter, make significantly less. As per The Houston Fire Department, firefighters can make anywhere between $43,528 to $52,644, depending on their years of experience. While Captain, Communications Captain, Inspector, Investigator, Mechanic (5th - 9th year) make up to $64,273, which is the highest in the field. However, he did mention that he has been saving since he was 22, but has clearly not managed to get his finances in place. Myrla, even though she has expensive tastes, mentioned that her credit card bill is always paid and has savings in addition to that, implying that she has financially taken care of herself.
