'Married At First Sight: Couples' Cam': Jamie and Doug welcome baby boy Hendrix after hours of intense labor
Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner recently gave birth but not before they chronicled their pregnancy journey for Lifetime's spin-off quarantine special series, 'Married At First Sight: Couples' Cam.' In the previous week's episode, Jamie went into labor and it's not a pretty sight.
Jamie was groaning in pain while Doug set up the camera while he recorded himself sharing how worried he was of the whole process because a) it's a home birth and b) she had never been in so much pain. He was surprised to see Jamie squirm because her previous childbirth experience was not as painful as this one. In the June 17 episode, Jamie, with the help of her midwife, and the support of her loving family, delivers a baby boy, Hendrix Douglas. But that was after an excruciating few hours of labor.
Meanwhile, fans cannot stop praising Jamie for making such a bold choice regarding the birth process. With the pandemic changing life as we know it, Jamie thought giving birth at a hospital would be taking a huge risk, and therefore, she opted for a home birth, which Doug wasn't in favor of at first. He had concerns about Jamie getting into an emergency situation while giving birth at home. However, by the end of multiple discussions, she was able to get Doug to be on the same page.
"Having sympathy pains for you. Brave strong woman," a fan commented, while another shared: "I got emotional when you asked Doug to get baby's utero pic while you were in labor. So sweet."
"Jamie is a champ...to go from an epidural to au naturale this time," another user wrote. "I am taping it and will watch it when I get home. Congratulations on beautiful Hayes!!," a viewer expressed.
Shortly after Hendrix's arrival, Jamie told People magazine what was really going on in her body when the contractions took over. It was like "fire" consuming her whole body, she said but also added that she tried not to panic thinking her baby boy was also going through the same thing. Jamie and Doug also share a daughter, Henley Hehner.
