A wedding day or a potential forever home, this is the choice that 10 Nashville couples from 'Marriage or Mortgage', a new show on Netflix, are presented out of which they have to choose one. This does sound silly at first, however, the importance of a wedding day cannot be undermined and there are no second thoughts needed to understand that a forever home is not just a necessity but a luxury in today's time.

The average salary of a full-time worker in the US in 2019 was estimated to be around $40,000 and weddings that year cost an average of $33,900 including all expenses from the engagement ring to the reception. This proves that people are spending a lot of dollars on planning their weddings and there are multiple reasons for the same.

Coming back to the show, the first couple Liz and Evan did choose a wedding over a house in downtown Nashville. But Denise Lambert and Nicholas Boehmke who feature on the second episode of 'Marriage and Mortgage' decided on investing in a forever home instead of a wedding, here's more on the couple and their journey on the show.

Who are Denise Lambert and Nicholas Boehmke?

Denise and Nicholas are one of those couples who've stood the test of time. It's been 13 years since they met each other, however, they did not commit to each other until 2015, the year where they truly found love with and in each other. Denise did have an inkling that she'd found her one true love with Nicholas but decided to take things slowly by asking him not to call her but he did and she answered and the rest is history.

Denise and Nicholas' love story is not as simple. The former was married before and even has a daughter from that relationship. But Denise chose to be a rock who Nicholas could depend on to take care of not just him but his daughter as well. She quickly slipped into the role of a stepmother for his young daughter and Nicholas didn't wait too long to hook her for life by proposing marriage to her.

Denise and Nicholas both came from a troubled past that taught them the importance of a home where they and their future family could feel safe and comfortable. Both of them harbored dreams of adopting more children and expanding their family for which a home was mandatory.

If you're thinking that choosing a home was a no-brainer for the couple, that is not the case. Nicholas was leaning more towards a home initially because he had eloped for his first wedding and for the do-over, he wanted to celebrate it with people who mattered in a non-traditional setting.

Both of them did go through a number of houses and a lot of elegant wedding venues but when the time came to decide, they came to a realization that having a strong foundation for their future family outweighs everything. In the end of it all, they both decided that a home would add more value to their life than a lavish wedding and that is the choice they went with.

Are Denise Lambert and Nicholas Boehmke married now?

At the end of the episode, Denise and Nicholas revealed that they eloped and it was the wedding of their dreams. It was a rainy day when they said their "I dos" in front of the people who they wanted to be present on their big day. Also, their forever home was revealed to be in Franklin, Tennessee, on Oglethorpe Drive.

They chose this house because of its proximity to Nicholas' daughter's school and Denise's mother's house. The house is spacious enough to accommodate their love for entertaining as well as expanding their family.
