After watching the series finale of 'Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition', fans weren't even remotely pleased with how Vado was treated by the show's hosts Dr Ish Major and Judge Lynn Toler. In one of the earlier episodes, Vado lost his temper at his girlfriend Tahiry Jose and tried choking her. Following that incident, Vado was isolated from the show's remaining couples, and Tahiry, so that he could reflect on his actions, while Tahiry had some space to heal.

When the clip featuring Vado choking Tahiry began circulating online as part of promotional posts for the episode, fans were initially fuming at Vado for hurting Tahiry. But after watching the episode, they changed their minds. Just a few moments before Vado tried choking Tahiry, she tried hurting him by throwing apples at him. Many fans felt that both of them were at fault.

While Vado was made to own up to his mistakes and apologize to Tahiry for his unacceptable behavior, Tahiry never had to do the same to him. During the finale, when the couples were asked to offer the ring to their respective partners if they decided to leave the show with them, Tahiry came up with her ring, but instead of offering it to Vado, she gave it to herself. Following which she gave a speech on how his actions were unacceptable, considering he knew about her previous abusive relationships. She also brought up the apple incident and said if that irked him, he should have just thrown an apple at her instead. Vado stood there in disbelief as Tahiry continued to lecture on self-love and respect.

Fans weren't pleased with how Tahiry never apologized to him, while Vado was made to go the extra mile to apologize to her. A fan tweeted, "I lost respect for Judge Toler and Dr. Ish in how they handled the Tahiry/Vado situation. It's like Vado got dragged on TV and social media while we just let it slide that Tahiry really is a violent person too. Throw an apple at me catch a fade  #hiphopbootcamp #MarriageBootcam."

"Eye rolling how #HipHopBootCamp portrayed Tahiry as a role model for women while ignoring/dismissing her abusive behavior towards Vado. Would the behavior been dismissed had Vado been the one to throw the apples at Tahiry's face? Exactly. #MarriageBootcamp," wrote a fan.

"@Drishmajor that's not right how yall did Vado. Tahiry chucked them apples at that man like a major leaguer n yall didnt let him speak.#HipHopBootCamp," expressed a fan.
