The 'Planet of the Apes' actor Mark Wahlberg is in the news for some of his past actions which involved him allegedly attacking and abusing people of different races. Amid the ongoing Black Lives Matter movement, the internet couldn't stop expressing their disappointment in Wahlberg for a few disturbing incidents from his past which have come to light.

On June 4, he paid tribute to George Floyd through his tweet which read, "The murder of George Floyd is heartbreaking. We must all work together to fix this problem. I'm praying for all of us. God bless. #blacklivesmatter." Twitter users were quick to note that owing to all his "hate crimes", he shouldn't be the one to talk about Floyd or the protests. While one wrote, "Talking like you don't have a whole section dedicated to your 'hate crimes' on your wiki. Better make the donation 1/10th of your net worth — a tithe — since you're so devout." Another tweeted, "In 1986. You're tryna cancel him for something from 34 years ago. He’s since made HUGE strides to try to right his wrongs. In 1991 he even made a song talking about racism (look up 'Wildside' by Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch). This is f***ed up but people are allowed to grow."

In 1988, he was charged with attempted murder and served a 45-day sentence for assaulting a middle-aged Vietnamese man while high on PCP. in 1992, Wahlberg was charged for attacking his neighbor, who was a black man.

Several furious internet users have said that the actor shouldn't be allowed to get away with such hate crimes. "Letting Mark Wahlberg star in movies is bad enough, but letting him get away with countless hate crimes is awful," said one. "If there was anything close to equal justice under the law in this country, tens of thousands of incarcerated black men would be home with their families while Mark Wahlberg, Tim Allen and Rush Limbaugh would all be in the middle of their prison terms," added another.

Meanwhile, a few comments on Twitter are talking about canceling Wahlberg and banning his movies. "Never watching any of Mark Wahlberg's movies anymore. Disgusting racist s**t," wrote one. Another added, "I have my reservations with certain aspects of cancel culture but I do hope Mark Wahlberg isn't trending as a supporter of BLM. Aggressive racist incidents in his youth; one incident which involed him beating a Vietnamese man until he was completely blinded in one eye."
