WASHINGTON, DC: The already tumultuous relationship between Republican Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert has taken a darker turn, with the former reportedly launching a campaign to tarnish the latter's reputation within GOP circles.

It seemingly intensified after Boebert's involvement in what she later called "unacceptable" behavior during a 'Beetlejuice' musical show in September.

House Freedom Caucus fallout

Lauren Boebert's involvement in the removal of Marjorie Taylor Greene from the House Freedom Caucus in July seems to have triggered an escalating feud, with the latter allegedly resorting to derogatory terms in an attempt to undermine her former ally.

Multiple sources, including anonymous GOP lawmakers, have confirmed that Greene has repeatedly referred to Boebert as a "w***e." One GOP lawmaker, speaking on the condition of anonymity, revealed that Greene's use of the term is not a recent development.

They reportedly said, "Calling her a w***e, that’s not new. She’s been doing that for a while," to The Daily Beast.

Another source claimed that Greene had even disparaged Boebert in a conversation with former President Donald Trump.

When questioned about these accusations by the outlet, Greene did not deny them. Instead, she went on the offensive, stating, "Why are you working on a story? Because you like to write trash, you just can’t help yourself."

She insisted that the reporter was "drawn to the gossip and the drama," adding, "You just love it so much, you got to create it and make it more, and bigger, and nastier."

Unraveling the relationship between Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert: From allies to enemies

The relationship between Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert, once seemingly unbreakable, has been on a downward spiral since their joint arrival in Congress in 2021.

In March 2022, Boebert and Greene collaborated in disrupting Joe Biden's State of the Union address. However, their alliance soured significantly when they found themselves at odds over the candidacy of Kevin McCarthy for House Speaker in January this year.

Initially bonding over their outspoken support for Donald Trump, their friendship began to fracture as Greene aligned herself with McCarthy.

Greene openly supported McCarthy's bid for House Speaker, while Boebert vehemently opposed it, creating a rift between the two. During a subsequent interview, the former explicitly criticized Boebert and her political ally, Florida Representative Matt Gaetz.

In her remarks, Greene expressed being "furious" with her "Freedom Caucus colleagues" for making demands of McCarthy without specifying them, stating, "They asked nothing for me. Nothing. That's what I found out in there. I am furious."

This verbal clash highlighted the growing tensions within their political relationship.

A heated argument in January and a public incident in June, where Greene publicly referred to Boebert as a "little b***h" on the House floor, further strained their ties.

"I’ve donated to you. I’ve defended you. But you’ve been nothing but a little b***h to me. And you copied my articles of impeachment after I asked you to cosponsor them," said Greene to Boebert, as per an insider who spoke to The Daily Beast.

Fellow lawmakers anticipate a possible 'fistfight' between Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert

After Marjorie Taylor Greene found herself losing allies within the party after being removed from the House Freedom Caucus supposedly over her behavior, she has been talking ill about Lauren Boebert, causing concerns among fellow lawmakers.

As per The Daily Beast, one said, "It’s ridiculous and dumb, doesn't make any sense. If this is what you’re holding onto, you limit yourself."

In a previous instance, Representative Tim Burchett stated, "A fistfight could break out at any moment," to the publication.

He added, "I am friends with both of them. It’s entertaining to think that a fistfight could break out at any movement. I kind of dig that," seemingly amused by the ongoing feud.

Another lawmaker cautioned that the situation was a "tinderbox," suggesting that prolonged rifts within the GOP could have broader consequences, noting, "You can’t have too many of these rifts for too long."
