WASHINGTON, DC: Speaker Mike Johnson, who now holds the gavel, encountered criticism from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene in the aftermath of the Biden impeachment inquiry.

The momentum behind the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden has slowed under the new speaker, Johnson, as per The Washington Post.

The Speaker suggested, “that there is insufficient evidence at the moment to initiate formal impeachment proceedings.”

Rep. Greene took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to take a dig at Speaker Johnson and claimed he “doesn’t want to impeach.”

However, surprisingly, less than a month ago, Greene also voted for Johnson to become Speaker of the House.

On X, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene wrote, “Not long ago we had a Speaker that believed in impeachment so much that he launched an inquiry without a floor vote, but you were told he was bad.”

She continued, “After 8 R’s and all D’s ousted him, we found checks to Joe Biden and evidence of a massive money laundering scheme and now the new guy you are told is way better doesn’t want to impeach. Such progress.”

The “new guy” mentioned above was Speaker Mike Johnson as she shared a post that quoted Johnson on “insufficient evidence” to initial impeachment proceedings against President Biden.

In a later post, Greene also claimed that she spoke to Johnson, “I just talked with Speaker Johnson and this is what he told me about impeachment:”

Greene quoted Johnson, “I’ve explained repeatedly we are doing the methodical investigation that is required of us by the Constitution—but we are quickly nearing an inflection point.”

Less than a month ago, Greene also stated her vote for Speaker Johnson on the social media platform, “I just voted for Mike Johnson to be our next Speaker of the House!”

She added, “Mike has a conservative voting record and has committed to helping me move important legislation forward, like my Protect Children’s Innocence Act, to end the genital mutilation of kids. Let’s get to work!”

As Marjorie Taylor Greene expressed her frustration on social media about Mike Johnson, the internet was quick to respond, one user wrote, “Didn't you just vote for Mike Johnson and sing his praises? You're so full of s**t.”

“Newsflash, you’ve never had evidence of wrongdoing. 😂😂” wrote one user, and another said, “Resign.”

The Internet continued to mock Greene as one user wrote, “When I researched this issue I found one solution may be helpful here: crying more,” and another said, “MTG stop.”

“Y'all just really are in fantasy land, aren't you?” asked a user on the social media platform, while another said, “Knock it off. The Speaker is doing it correctly. You are the problem at this point.”
