'Let's get this sorted out tonight'
In response to Reyes' comment, the Las Vegas Traffic Bureau replied with its own comment. "Then why not turn yourself in now? Let’s get this sorted out tonight," read the bureau's comment. The wanted woman appeared to have agreed to their advice and talked to an intervention officer on Thursday night, May 11. On Friday, May 12, Reyes turned herself into the police, according to authorities, reported New York Post.
What were the charges against Reyes?
In connection to a felony DUI program, the Nevada woman missed a court date and was later ordered by a judge to spend two days behind bars, reported News 8. Following a plea agreement for her DUI arrest in October which was her seventh since 2007, the last three DUI charges against her were dropped to one. According to court records, Reyens was also allowed to attend a treatment program.
Before the plea deal, prosecutors cited her previous arrests and argued she is held on $50,000 bail. The woman who has now surrendered to authorities is required to have a device on her car and must serve home confinement of six months. The device would prevent her from driving her vehicle impaired. As per the plea agreement, another DUI charge against Reyes would result in her being sent to prison, reported News 8.
As per the court documents, Reyes's arrest history dates back to April 2007, September 2010, April 2019, February 2020, and July 2020, according to News 8.
