Will 'Mank' dominate the Critics Choice Awards? Here are all the categories David Fincher's drama could win
More is not always merrier when it comes to award nominations. At first glance however David Fincher's 'Mank' has numbers on its side. 'Mank' a drama that focuses on screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz and his development of the screenplay for the Hollywood classic 'Citizen Kane' comes out on top at the Critics Choice Awards with 12 nominations. But nominations don't necessarily mean the ultimate nod comes your way.
Last year's 'The Irishman' for instance led the pack with 14 award nominations at the Critics Choice Awards but ultimately only ended up with one Critics Choice Awards win for Best Ensemble.

However, the recent snub at the Golden Globes has many wondering if 'Mank' will be this year's 'The Irishman'. Both films by legendary directors with extraordinary production value, but which for some reason have left Oscar winners unimpressed. However, even if the awards season has not got off to an enthusiastic start all is not lost for 'Mank', not by a long shot. After all, the Best Picture list of the Critics Choice Awards is generally a good yardstick to predict what the Academy Awards list for Best Picture will include. Besides this, if 'Mank' is to take home awards this season, bets are on director David Fincher, supporting actress Amanda Seyfried and the score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross to make the team of 'Mank' proud. Another point that 'Mank' has in its favor is that Hollywood loves films about... well, Hollywood. We will find out soon enough if 'Mank' has managed to make the number of nominations count at the Critics Choice Awards. The Critics Choice Awards are held annually to honor the finest in cinematic and television achievement by the Critics Choice Association. The award show will air from 7 pm ET to 10 pm ET on The CW.
