'Manifest': What the show won with its diverse cast, it lost with its lack of diverse storytelling

Be it Grace, Saanvi or Bethany, these characters do not have a central role to play on the show but are on the periphery of Ben's and Michaela's existence

There are a lot of things that could have been right with NBC's Jeff Rake-created show but it all went south at some point. As 'Manifest' hits a record low in its series ratings after this Monday's episode, it is probably time that Rake takes a different path to bring his show back on top. The show itself hovers over a very interesting premise about a lost plane and a lapse in time, and what is even more applauding is that Rake has brought out his characters through a plethora of diverse actors. However, even with diversity the show somehow seems to have failed to do justice to its inclusive nature.
