Manchester United vs Newcastle: Part hope, part fear for Red Devils fans as they wish team reverses their fortunes
Manchester United fans are an emotional lot. They are stuck between a rock and hard place, pardon the cliché, but United ardent fans will get what we're saying here. After a rocky start and a decent transfer window along with an under-fire Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Red Devils travel to St. James Park with the objective to bounce back after their abysmal 1-6 loss to the Tottenham Hotspur. Placed 16th on the points table, they find themselves in unfamiliar territory and will be keen to make amends.
Fans of the club though are have been torn between cheering for the team and sharing their thoughts on how they have fared so far. For starters, they had their say on Solskjaer being inches close to being sacked and former Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino taking his place. "Lol imagine if Poch was hired and will fail. People will say its because he was out of a job for 2 years. Be real, no matter who manages our team, our board is the one who will fail us all. At least with Ole i have more hope," a tweet read.

For one of the fans, it would be Liverpool winning one game and Newcastle taking a win away from United. "Liverpool and whoever playing Manchester United," he tweeted. But there was hope as well. "@FPellistri07 I am a Man utd fan since my childhood. I sense some form of greatness in you. I sincerely wish you work towards it & be a super star in coming years for @ManUtd. Be focused towards greatness !!!" one of the fans wrote about Facu Pellistri.

"One Love To Manchester United # #GGMU," a fan tweeted. And the doubters weren't far behind either. "This is funny Newcastle will tronce ye today 3-1". "Looking forward to a little football distraction tomorrow. God save us all. P.s. might avoid the Manchester United match to avert a late afternoon meltdown," seconded another fan.

P.s. might avoid the Manchester United match to avert a late afternoon meltdown.
One fan took to Twitter to highlight some of the key issues that saw United struggle: "Problem with #Mufc ~Off field issues with key players affections their game focus and confidence eg Harry, Mason, Jesse, Wan, Pogba ~ Club not signing key player - Jadon ~ Ole fear of being axed. Steady the ship else gonna be long season for us fans @ManUtd"

Newcastle has been pretty decent in their journey so far with two wins, a draw and a loss in their four games and will be wary of United as they host the side at St James' Park. The Magpies have defeated West Ham and Burnley so far and have a drawn game against Tottenham. However, their injury roster will be a cause of concern. Star goalkeeper Martin Dubravka suffered an injury and won’t return until December.
What are your thoughts on Manchester United's chances against Newcastle?
The game is slated to kick-off at 3 pm ET on Saturday, October 17, 2020. The match can be live-streamed on Peacock Premium.
