For a wobbly Manchester City who are yet to assert their domination in the Premier League, things get a lot tougher as they face an in-form Liverpool on Sunday, November 8. It is a litmus test for Pep Guardiola's men after blowing hot and cold in the tournament. Placed tenth in the points table, a solid win, like what Aston Villa notched up against the Reds earlier, would mean making a strong statement that they're still in the fight for the title.

For their rivals, injury issues and defense seems to be a thing of the past as they have finally begun playing like the defending champions. With five wins in seven games, a win on Sunday would see them break away from the pack. Here's everything you need to know ahead of the marquee clash:

Time

Kick-off is slated for 7.30 AM ET on Sunday, November 8.

Venue

The Citizens host the Reds at the City of Manchester Stadium.

Where to watch?

The game can be watched live on NBCSN.

How to live stream?

NBC Sports App, Peacock, FuboTV (7-day free trial) are the best platforms to watch the English Premier League across the United States. Users with access to NBC Gold and Peacock, the network's new subscription streaming platform, can also catch the games. The Spanish language broadcast is available on Telemundo Deportes.

Peacock will showcase 175 live matches throughout the season. In addition, it will also have full-game replays available on-demand for all slated 380 matches of the 2020-21 season. These replays will be available after 9 pm ET the day of the match, according to Cnet. Prices for Fubo vary based on the plan and selected add-ons. The streamer's most popular plan in the US includes 100+ channels at $59.99 per month.

Pre-buzz around the game

City are unbeaten against Jurgen Klopp's men at home since 2015. They won the last game 4-0 even though it was a tad too late as Liverpool had already clinched the title. While this is a positive for Guardiola's men, the Reds offense with Diogo Jota will be a headache for the gaffer.  They seem a different unit with the former Wolves man in the mix and we shouldn't be surprised if Klopp starts him in the XI.

According to Goal, former Blues captain Richard Dunne said this would be a clash that would go on to determine the title. "The two teams haven't lost a lot of games over the last few years so they know that the importance of the three points in this one is massive," he said.

"City go into it after beating Liverpool 4-0 last year but they'll know that wasn't the real Liverpool side, they'd already wrapped up the league by then. It's going to be very competitive. I think for City, and for Liverpool as well, they'll understand how big it is. They'll understand that everything up to now has sort of been a warm-up for this game. It's not just the result of one game this weekend, this could turn the championship and this could give you the belief to go on a run and try to build a lead, or for City to catch up with Liverpool."

Who will win?

Betting sites are in favor of City, but watch out for the Reds as they search for their first win on the Citizens home turf.
