NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA: Authorities have revealed how an illegal immigrant butchered his girlfriend and her sister while wearing a red devil mask, before wrapping the entrails of one of his victims around his neck. 23-year-old Oscar Urias allegedly killed his girlfriend Elizabeth Tornabene, 31, and her 15-year-old sister during a violent onslaught that began on October 25 at a home in LaPlace after Urias and Tornabene got into an argument, the New Orleans Advocate reported.

St John the Baptist Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre said the pair allegedly went into a bedroom before Tornabene ran out just moments later chased by the mask-wearing Urias, who went on to stab the woman multiple times with a pair of knives. Urias' siblings — a 15-year-old brother and a 17-year-old sister who were visiting him from Baton Rouge — tried to intervene. However, the raging killer turned on them as well. “His little brother and sister tried to stop him, and he turned on them and stabbed them,” the sheriff said.

Urias subsequently chased his brother and Tornabene's sister out of the home and eventually caught up with the latter inside a garage down the street, where he stabbed her to death. Just moments later, a homeowner desperately tried to keep Urias out of his residence as he tried to bust in. “I knew I couldn’t let him in here,” the homeowner told NOLA.com, adding that he saw a bloody “machete” in Urias’ hand and had heard the teen’s cries for help. “I know what he was doing,” the 63-year-old man added. “The last thing I heard her say was, ‘You’re gonna kill me.’”

The homeowner, who spoke on condition of anonymity, further revealed that he spotted the killer leaving his garage with the girl's intestines around his neck. The rest of her remains were later recovered from his driveway. “I looked him in his eyes,” the man recalled. “He looked like the devil.” Urias is originally from El Salvador and was in the United States illegally. He is reportedly facing two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder. Tregre said he has since confessed to the slayings.

Tornabene's father told NOLA.com on October 27 how she had started caring for her 15-year-old sister Hattie full-time last year. Elizabeth had told her father that Urias was a sweet and loving man who treated her well and opened doors for her. “There weren’t any red flags,” said Rocky Tornabene, insisting that his daughter had always been a good judge of character. "There had to be something good about this kid. My daughter wouldn’t just go and live with somebody that was not normal."

Elizabeth's best friend Carrie Fortenberry, 32, had also noticed that her demeanor changed for the better after she began dating Urias. “He really did comfort her and help her,” Fortenberry told the outlet. “I just thought he was a good man for her. I never would have thought he would do anything to hurt her.” That said, Urias’ 17-year-old sister was in critical condition Monday at a New Orleans hospital. His 15-year-old brother was treated and discharged on October 25, per the outlet. “This was a vicious attack,” Tregre said. “This is probably the top, worst that I’ve seen in my 32 years of law enforcement.”

Meanwhile, Urias was transferred to a state corrections facility on Tuesday. Authorities are yet to reveal a motive for the attack.
