Law enforcement authorities reported that a New York man knifed his estranged wife to death early Tuesday inside her Washington Heights apartment before turning the knife on himself and taking a nose dive from her sixth-floor terrace.

At around 8 am Tuesday morning, detectives found 46-year-old Pablo Castro's body on the second-floor balcony of the apartment building on Wadsworth Avenue near W. 179th Street with multiple self-inflicted stab wounds, New York Daily News reports.

Realizing that Castro had fallen from above, detectives searched the terrace of the apartment the couple shared and found blood. Upon searching further, they found 50-year-old Yuberkis Paulino's lifeless body with multiple stab wounds inside the home.
