While one segment expressed anticipation and excitement, the other felt it was practically no use of making a docuseries on a player still playing

'Man in the Arena: Tom Brady' made its much-anticipated debut on ESPN+ even as Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are facing the potential Super Bowl win hangover midway in the ongoing season. The docuseries produced by ESPN, 199 Productions, NFL Films, and his Religion of Sports production partner Gotham Chopra sees the 43-year-old seven-time Super Bowl winner talk about his greatest hits and misses during his time with the New England Patriots.

Talking about the docuseries, director Gotham Chopra said he was eager to see more of Brady's impact on and off the field, and that led him to create the docuseries. "Tom Brady has been a dominant force in the NFL, and in the broader culture, for two decades now. No player in recent memory has been more analyzed or debated, more beloved or reviled," he opined. "Man in the Arena is an examination of his impact on and off the field, and I’m eager for that discussion to continue around the series."

However, social media seemed to have a mixed opinion. While one segment expressed anticipation and excitement, the other felt it was practically no use of making a docuseries on a player still wearing his cleats. "Yeah, I’m definitely watching that Tom Brady Man In The Arena," one of the tweets read. "Tom Brady’s “Man in the Arena” is debuting Tuesday on ESPN+. This is going to be a great series; Brady’s “Tom vs. Time” series was fascinating. -@thechrismathis,"  read another tweet.

"@TSN_Sports when is @TomBrady Man In The Arena on in Canada?! I was lucky to find it tonight since the @ShawDirectguide didn’t say it was on! Don’t do this to me!!" one of the fans implored as they hoped to catch the first of the multi-episode docuseries.

The other part was least interested. "I’m sorry Brady fans I can’t watch “Man in the Arena.” It’s like Brady is talking in third person about himself and his own struggles, accomplishments, etc. While he’s still playing. Isn’t this retirement content? #TomBrady," a fan reckoned. This was seconded by another who said, "If Pete Carroll had just handed the ball to Marshawn, Tom Brady’s “man in the arena” horseshit would be shorter by one full super bowl’s worth of self-aggrandizement."

"ESPN, why would I want to watch Tom Brady in man in the arena. JUST A JOCK," a fan remarked."Yet once again! I could not hear Tom Brady’s comments in “Man in the Arena” because of the blasting music coming from some idiot producer who thinks listeners need “mood” music more than words to enjoy the moment. Who is responsible? Anyone care about what’s being said?" a comment read.
