Man banned from keeping pets after his two Staffordshire bull terriers were overfed till they became 'barrel-shaped'
58-year-old Martin Harrison saw the dogs taken away from him by a court and was also ordered to not keep pets for the next two years
A man who overfed his two Staffordshire Bull Terriers to the point they became so obese they were "barrel-shaped" and their legs buckled because of their size saw the dogs taken away from his care and banned from keeping any pets for the next two years by the Poole Magistrates' Court.
According to the Daily Mail, 58-year-old Martin Harrison had bought the two dogs, Lucy and Brucie, in 2014, and regularly fed them cheese, rice pudding, and cakes which resulted in them dramatically putting on weight. The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) was first alerted to the dogs' condition after receiving a tip from a member of the public.
