Kansas man arrested after bodies of two boys found at house from where he abducted his two young daughters
KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: Police have ended their search across state lines for a man who allegedly abducted his two young daughters from a residence in Leavenworth where two boys were also found dead. Authorities issued Amber alerts for 7-year-old Nora Jackson and 3-year-old Aven Jackson in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas by 5:30 pm Saturday. The girls were last seen in the 14900 block of Hillside Road in Leavenworth and the getaway vehicle had been sighted in Joplin in Tulsa, 41 Action News reported.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation revealed how 40-year-old Donny Jackson, who is also a potential suspect in the double homicide, was eventually detained by Oklahoma Highway Patrol. The Honda Accord that was the focus of the Amber Alert was spotted by a port of entry officer near the small town of Erick, Oklahoma. Donald Ray Jackson was apprehended after troopers along with Beckham county deputies pulled the vehicle over and took his two daughters in their custody. Both Nora and Aven Jackson are safe and authorities are reportedly making arrangements to return them to their family.
Speaking to 41 Action News, a friend of the Jackson family said the mother of the children is also at the Leavenworth Police Department to guarantee her safety and that of another child, per the report. It later emerged that Jackson had been pulled over earlier that day near the Kansas-Oklahoma border before police were alerted about the homicide and abduction. At the time, his daughters were with him inside the vehicle. Nora, who has "blonde-brown shoulder-length hair, a slender build, and blue eyes," was wearing a "black shirt with white polka dots, black leggings, and brown boots." Meanwhile, Aven, who also has "blonde hair, blue eyes, and a slender build," was wearing a "red T-shirt, black sparkling leggings," per 41 Action News. The trio was believed to be traveling in Oklahoma, Texas, or Arkansas in Jackson's black 2008 Honda Accord with Kansas license 266MXB.
Leavenworth County Undersheriff Jim Sherley noted how deputies found two boys, possibly between the ages of 11 and 14, dead inside a residence in the 14900 block of Hillside Road Saturday afternoon. Authorities soon realized the two girls were missing, although it's yet to be determined exactly when the double homicide or kidnapping took place. Deputies responded to the address after someone called 911 upon discovering the double homicide scene, per the report.

Donny Jackson's vehicle was stopped by the Kansas Highway Patrol near the Oklahoma border in an "unrelated" incident less than an hour before Leavenworth County deputies responded to the double homicide. "It was a basic traffic stop, a basic traffic infraction," according to Sherley. "They made contact at the vehicle and that was prior to law enforcement being alert to the incident that had transpired here today.
During a news conference Saturday afternoon, Sherley revealed that the sheriff's office has "had dealings" with Jackson in the past. However, they did not know the number of calls that were made to his home.
