'Mama June: Family Crisis': Will Pumpkin end her relationship with Mama June if her mom fails the drug test?
'Mama June: Family Crisis' is setting up for a drama-filled episode. The much-awaited mother-daughter reunion is going down tonight and it's definitely going to be an explosive one. As much as Lauryn Michelle "Pumpkin" Efird wants to meet June Edith "Mama June" Shannon, she is not guided by emotions. Yes, it's overwhelming to meet one's mother after a long period of separation, but Pumpkin is not letting that come in the way of good judgment.
She arranged for Dr Ish Major, relationship and dating expert, to be there for the meet-up. The idea was to assess Mama June and what condition — mentally and physically — she is in. Mama June has struggled with addiction. She and her boyfriend, Geno Doak, were recently charged with crack which explains why Pumpkin has been on the edge about coming face-to-face with her own mother.
In a chat with her aunt, Joanne "Doe Doe" Shannon (Mama June's sister), Pumpkin says that it's hard to take Mama June's word for anything given how high on drugs she is all the time. However, during the meet-up at the production office, Pumpkin makes it clear that she will walk if she senses trouble. "I have not come here with high hopes. I will walk the f*** out if she's on drugs," she said.
In the preview clip, we are shown how Mama June gets tested for drugs. Dr Ish comes in with the results, says: "We have got some bad news and some good news." The news gets intense with Pumpkin saying she would be livid if her mother fails the drug test. Even though this doesn't sound like something a daughter would say to her mother but Mama June has given enough and more reasons to Pumpkin for her to be taking charge of situations such as these.
Once, Mama June sent a text asking Pumpkin to evacuate her home and be on the run because a group of bad guys were chasing her for drug money she owes them. This landed them in a hotel, which hasn't been a great experience for the family. There have disagreements and fights and discomfort all along. So, will this be the end of Mama June and Pumpkin? Let's hope they are able to get back together, and function as a unit.
