Amazon-backed 'Making The Cut' is here and it's a lot of glitz, glamor and good wearable fashion. Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum welcomed 12 extremely talented designers on the show and told them that the last one standing will take home a hefty cash prize of a million dollars. Even though these designers have been part of international fashion weeks, have boutiques of their own and worked for established brands, who wouldn't love to push their brands onto a global stage and find clients worldwide.

Even though they are a confident bunch, one does lose cool when thrown into a challenge. They were tasked with creating a two-look brand snapshot, with one being runway appropriate, while the other catering to the larger audience, which will be judged on its wearability factor. And helping them in their first show and many more to come would be seamstresses who have been assigned to do the sowing for the designers so that they can focus on just creating the looks.

Jasmine Chong, from Kuala Lumpur, was enthusiastic about the challenge but she struggled to select her fabric. However, with little help from her fellow contestants, she was able to zero in on a rich teal and green silk and sheer fabric to go with it.

Since she is all about size fluidity, her silhouettes are flowy and something women of every shape and size can wear. Even though the thought behind it is really special and not-commercial, the overall vibe of the look didn't sit well. Especially with the emerald number. It was too sheer and the model didn't have any undergarments on. She wanted it to be "racy" but it ended up exposing a lot more than needed. The lines between sensual and inappropriate were blurred on the runway.

The judges, especially Heidi Klum, Naomi Campbell and Joseph Altuzarra were taken aback by the choice of fabric. "No pants?" Naomi asked, to which Heidi said: "I see a whole lot I don't want to see." Joseph commented that it was just fabric tacked on to each other and a lot of nakedness.

Jasmine's numbers didn't find the highest spot on the judges' lists. Even though they understood her brand's idea to support body inclusivity, it didn't come through in her designs and that was a big letdown for them. "She was very naked. I thought that green was a really good color choice but we are thinking about this winning piece right that we want to sell globally and you are never going to be able to walk into any store and sell something sheer off-the-bat. It's always going to be your hardest seller," Nicole added.

Even though it was an early exit and Jasmine was visibly dejected to have been asked to leave this early in the competition, she was inspired and felt reinvigorated in the process.
