SANFORD, MAINE: A search operation for a two-year-old girl and her parents has intensified, with authorities now urging people to help in locating the three. As per reports, Jill Sidebotham and Nicholas Hansen along with their daughter Lydia Hansen went camping in June and they were supposed to return on June 30.

However, they all went missing. They were reportedly last seen by Sidebotham’s family on June 27. The 28-year-old Sidebotham and Hansen are divorced and while the woman’s phone has been switched off since June 28, the 38-year-old man was also not available since June 29. The last apparent sighting of them was at a Walmart in Manie’s Mexico, on July 2.

In the surveillance footage, the family was seen purchasing “food items and there didn’t seem to be anything nefarious or criminal,” said Sanford Police Department Lieutenant Matthew Gagne, who also added, “It’s more of a wellness check because it’s unusual for them to not have contacted the family or friends as far as we know.”

Now, police have asked the public to help them find Sidebotham and Hansen as well as Lydia. In a Facebook post, Sanford Maine Police Department wrote, “SEEKING PUBLIC’S HELP IN LOCATING THIS FAMILY: The Sanford Police Dept. is asking the public’s help in locating the family in the below photos. They were last seen operating a silver 2005 VW Jetta ME registration plate 1563VJ. The vehicle has a black rear bumper. They could possibly be in the Phillips area camping.”

“They were due back in the area on Thursday but friends and family have not heard from them. They were in the Rumford area on Wednesday. Their names are Jill Sidebotham, Lydia Hansen, and Nicholas Hansen. If you have seen them or spoke to them please call us at 324-9170,” the post noted.

Sidebotham’s sister Reta Lyman has also shared an appeal on Facebook while mentioning that Hansen’s “not ok and has been violent before.” The post said, “Hey guys, kind of worried right now cause my sister has been missing since Wednesday. She's got my little 2 year old niece with her and no one seems to know where they went. We're seriously worried, she wouldn't take off like this and stay radio silent for so long, especially with her son waiting for her. If you see Jill Sidebotham please please please let us know.”

She added: “*Edit- she was last with my nieces father who is not a stable person. If you do see them, be careful of him. He's not ok and has been violent before especially when he thought someone was taking jill away.”

Sidebotham’s father Ron has also requested help from people. The concerned father said, “Please anybody! It's been days and it's not Jill's nature at all to just disappear! Please everyone, if anybody sees her and my granddaughter let Sanford PD know. We're so very worried for the two of them. We feel broken…” Ron spoke with NEWS CENTER Maine too and stated: “I was worried when my wife told me what they were doing, but I didn’t think this would happen. I hate to say it, but I don’t trust the man, there have been problems with him in the past.”
