'MAFS' Season 15: Alexis and Justin split after Decision Day, fans ask if 'Alexis said yes for the cameras'

Although Alexis regrets how she handled the issue, she is not truly interested in staying married

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA: In the episode 'This Was Supposed to Be Our New Start,' Alexis and Justin take another step toward their future but not all decisions are permanent. As much as the couple's decision surprised viewers, it quickly altered following a brief talk they had after meeting the experts.

During tonight's Decision Day episode of 'Married at First Sight,' which aired on 8/7 c on Lifetime, Justin and Alexis had to decide whether to stay together after eight weeks of their arranged marriage. Dr Pepper and Pastor Cal believe this marriage has a chance, but they are concerned. Dr Pepper believes Justin will say yes but Alexis may not be interested anymore. It turned out to be similar to what viewers predicted for them on Decision Day.

Alexis and Justin both believe they've grown over their eight-week marriage and are glad for it. While Justin is emotional, as is customary, he shares his realization that he sometimes gets too caught up in his thoughts and vows to avoid being that way in the future. Alexis is still concerned about their interaction, but she pulls out a letter in which she says "yes" to more time together since she isn't ready to leave the marriage. However, the conversation swiftly goes to intimacy. Predictably, Alexis expresses her dissatisfaction in the bedroom. They're also still divided over Justin's choice to give up his dog, Mya, for the sake of his marriage. Despite their issues, Justin believes their marriage has a chance. He wanted to stay together. The expression on Alexis' face as he makes his announcement is not encouraging. She admits that she pondered ending their marriage at times, but she has since changed her mind. She says yes in the first huge surprise of the night. The 'Married at First Sight' experts are overjoyed, but everyone thinks that their relationship still needs work. Pastor Cal further exhorts the couple to view this as a reset in their relationship, but the advice somewhat backfires since, after they leave a champagne toast, the couple quarrels over what a "reset" actually entails.

Sadly, Alexis and Justin's "yes" soon becomes a "no." They fight right after making their decision. The vibe is cold when they meet up with the other couples the next day. Justin repeatedly asks Alexis if she believes she made the right decision. She's gotten her fill. "I'm done," she declares as she and Justin speak with a producer. He reveals that they are divorcing.

'MAFS' fans quickly took to social media to blame Alexis for the argument that unfolded after. One fan wrote: "Alexis you baited him into this argument!!!" Another fan felt: "So…Alexis said yes for the cameras?!" Some fans also felt Alexis didn't want to be the villain hence made sure she wasn't the one to say no to the marriage: "Alexis really hates Justin but doesn’t want to look bad. She wants him to end this so bad so she can avoid being the villain. We all see you, sis." One fan adviced: "Justin should be man enough to realize this isn’t “love” or “marriage.” This is reality TV for Alexis."

Some fans argued how Justin knew about Alexis' real decision: "Justin knew Alexis was lying I’m pretty sure that’s why he kept asking. We literally see how she is whenever she gets around him. We knew she didn’t like him." One fan quipped: "Lmao when I said Alexis and Justin would be divorced by the reunion, they went and said "hold my beer." Another fan wrote: "oh this is why they sped through all the couples. Justin and Alexis got regrets. Justin knows that girl don’t want him." One fan also advised: "Justin needs to stand up from himself. He needs therapy. Alexis is a bully who made this entire journey about her and nothing about this was a partnership. Sure he was annoying af but she could have helped him gain confidence not beat him down."
