Why were Maegan Hall and other cops fired from the department?
In January, Hall and five other cops were fired from the department after her sexcapades with the officers. During an internal investigation, Hall spoke at an interview where she admitted to performing sex acts on police property and while on duty. Talking to the investigator, Hall said that in the midst of a divorce, she "got stupid" and "desperate" and also admitted that she had a threesome with a cop and his wife.
In her legal filing, the fired female cop who applied for a job on the force at the age of 24 in 2020, claimed that in 2022, she was first sexually involved with one of the senior officers, Sgt. Lewis Powell. According to the lawsuit added, "Sgt. Powell learned that Ms. Hall was going through the process of buying a home with her husband and that this process was extremely taxing on their relationship," and said, "Sgt. Powell positioned himself as a reliable source of companionship and advice regarding Ms. Hall’s career and her marriage. Sgt. Powell persisted in requests for sex despite Ms. Hall’s resistance," and later it said, "Ms Hall gave in to Sgt. Powell’s requests for sexual favors." Hall claimed that he threatened to kill himself when Hall tried to leave the affair, reported New York Post.
Who were the officers terminated from the department?
For the sexcapades at the La Vergne department, cops including Juan Lugo-Perez, Patrick Magliocoo, Larry Holladay, Ty McGowan, and Detective Seneca Shields were involved while Shields, McGowan, Lugo-Perez, and Powell were terminated. The female cop revealed that she got involved in affairs with the officers after her "exploitative sexual relationship" with Powell. The other cops were suspended but kept their jobs.
Burrel "Chip" Davis, the La Vergne Police was also fired in February. In the federal lawsuit, Hall claimed Davis "encouraged this behavior and shared in the pornography and sexual fantasy of mutually abusing Ms. Hall with his trusted supervisor, Ty McGowan." The chief once asked Hall to come into his office to "dance for him, tried to get her to agree to “lunch dates," and described her clothing as “hot girl summer s–t."
