Madison Brooks: Funeral announced for LSU student who died after being raped and hit by car
BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA: The devastated family of a 19-year-old girl, who was found dead after being allegedly raped, has announced a funeral for her. Madison Brooks died on January 15 after allegedly being raped by two men in a car, and who then left her on Burbank Drive near Pelican Lakes Parkway, where she was fatally hit by a vehicle.
In a few months, Brooks would have turned 20 but her life was cut short, and now in a statement, her family has shared that her final resting place will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Covington. The statement also noted that before the burial on February 3, “a visitation will be held on Friday, February 3 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm at St. Peter Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 1:00 pm at St. Peter Catholic Church, 125 E. 19th Ave. Covington, LA 70433.”

Earlier, the young woman was remembered as a “hero” as LSU Alpha Phi posted on Facebook, “We are grieving the sudden and tragic loss of our sister, Madison Brooks, following the accident that took her life. Madison was a sophomore and made a lasting impact on all of us. She was also a hero and was able to donate her heart and kidneys to save others.”
“We send our deepest sympathies to her family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. And we respectfully ask for time and space so we may support each other in our healing process. AOE🤍,” it added.
Following her unfortunate death four males have been arrested, including a juvenile. The three adults have been identified as 18-year-old Kaivon Deondre Washington, Everette Lee, 28, and Casen Carver, 18. It has been said that Washington and the minor allegedly sexually assaulted Brooks while the other two witnessed it while sitting in front of the moving car. The two rape accused are facing third-degree rape charges while the other two have been slapped with principle to third-degree rape charges.
Meanwhile, the case has created an uproar among people, with many people sharing their views. A user commented on Facebook, “As a child, I was also raped & then hit by a car (Herbie Zucker) & then raped again. We have an epidemic of sexual violence & terror in the US, this went up beyond 400% during the pandemic & especially after the hacked Trump election, domestic violence & terror calls are the most dangerous for our police. We have to stop terror against children & women. Madison never should have experienced any of these crimes to then be wiped out by a car because she was trying to escape & was in shock. This is inexcusable rape & murder.”
Another user said, “I read this story and it’s so sad RIP I’m glad she was a donor but the thing I dislike is nobody is saying anything about the rapists and their lawyer needs to be disbarred saying it was consensual our society is so wrong to even think that if your drunk you don’t ask that person to have intercourse they should have taken her home or call 911 to have her get to a hospital but to drop her off in the middle of God knows where I hope they get manslaughter charges added to them. RIP Angel amen.” The third user added, “What a beautiful young lady. What an amazing thing she did with her donation! This is why you always should let your loved ones know how to remember you. My prayers go out to her sisters and her family.”
