'MacGyver' Season 4 Episode 7 Preview: A murder mystery with romance and intrigue aplenty
After taking a break last week, 'MacGyver' Season 4 is finally coming back on the air with Episode 7 'Mac + Desi + Riley + Aubrey'.
The episode, which promises to be quite a fun watch, will focus on Angus "Mac" MacGyver (Lucas Till) and Desi Nguyen (Levy Tran) as they go on a double date with Riley Davis (Tristin Mays) and her new boyfriend Aubrey (Leonardo Nam).
A number of sneak peeks from the episode have surfaced online, the first of which reveals the "training" Russ Taylor (Henry Ian Cusick) and Wilt Bozer (Justin Hires) will be giving Mac and Desi so they can maintain their covers during the date.
The clip also reveals that the two haven't been out on a proper date since they started dating again so this dinner is a pretty huge moment for the couple.
A second clip from the episode shows Mac and Desi meeting Aubrey and their cover story almost falls apart less than a minute into the meeting. We also get a little background on Aubrey — he's an army brat who was raised all over the world.
Another sneak peek reveals that Mac and Desi are going to leave their phones in the car in an effort to prove that they can enjoy each other's company without needing to be on a mission.
That's probably going to be a problem because the synopsis for the episode reveals that there will be a murder at the restaurant and Mac leaves behind his Swiss army knife as well, though we wouldn't be too worried about that last point because yet another sneak peek reveals that he didn't actually leave it behind.
There's also a clip revealing that Aubrey is one of the co-owners of the restaurant they are at alongside Chad (David Shae) who appears to be the murder victim. Apparently Aubrey didn't tell Riley about owning the restaurant, which does seem a bit suspicious.
Finally, there's a clip that reveals the celebrity chef who's the heart and soul of the restaurant: Chef Salvatore, played by Sal Vulcano of 'Impractical Jokers'. All four of the 'Jokers' are featured in the episode with James Murray playing the Maître d’, Brian Quinn playing a character named Dale and Joe Gatto playing Larry.
Here's the synopsis for the upcoming episode: "A double date descends into chaos when Mac and Desi witness a murder in the back of the restaurant, and as they work to find the killer, Riley tries to keep the secret about her and her friends' 'day jobs' from her new boyfriend, Aubrey."
'MacGyver' Season 4 airs on Fridays at 8 pm ET on The CW.
