Spoilers for 'MacGyver' Season 4 Episode 12 'Loyalty + Family + Rogue + Hellfire'

While there are those who believe Angus "Mac" MacGyver (Lucas Till) and Desi Nguyen (Levy Tran) are the perfect couple, there's a vocal majority within the 'MacGyver' fandom who have been trying to get the young scientist/spy together with Riley Davis (Tristin Mays) for a very long time. MacRiley shippers got a bit of a boost last week after it was revealed that Riley does indeed have feelings for Mac but Episode 12 'Loyalty + Family + Rogue + Hellfire' just upped the ante in a big way.

The episode saw Mac and Riley joining Codex together and in the process, it appears they have gotten a lot closer, to the point of holding hands. While that's not much, it was still enough to send the fandom into overdrive with fans taking to Twitter and other social media to share their joy.

"Yes! This makes my heart so happy," one fan wrote on Twitter. "#MacRiley holding hands is perfection! I need more of this #MacGyver."

Another fan tweeted, "MAC AND RILEY HAD A MOMENT. GET THE CONFETTI AND THE STREAMERS....... even though they are u.s. enemies and are possibly going to get arrested or die."

Yet another fan took the opportunity to fire a shot at the fans who prefer Mac and Riley have a brother-sister relationship instead, writing, "I don’t know how people can look at Mac and Riley think siblings."

Another fan commented, "If this is how we react to macriley holding hands tf we gon do when they kiss bdjsjxn."

One fan shared a theory that, if true, could bring some real joy to MacRiley fans. "My theory is, I think Mac and Desi are not going to be together anymore, the trust between them has been broken, but Riley going with him, believing in him, can spark something," they wrote. "When Mac is feeling heavy with everything, Riles will be there to bring him back."

What do you think of this new development? Should Mac and Riley get together or do you prefer he sticks with Desi? Let us know in the comments.

'MacGyver' Season 4 airs Fridays at 8 pm ET exclusively on CBS.
