‘Lupin’ turned out to be one of the most popular foreign-language series on Netflix last year and gave the viewers an idea of how the streaming platform is trying to expand its space in the other parts of the world as well.

The stylish heist series starring Omar Sy as a thief name Assane Diop was an instant success and quickly shot towards the top of the streaming service’s US Top 10 list, a first for a French-language show. Season 1 of the show saw Diop’s (Omar Sy) life turned upside down when his father died after being accused of a crime he didn’t commit. 25 years later, Assane will use “Arsène Lupin, Gentleman Burglar” as his inspiration to avenge his father.
