PULLMAN, WASHINGTON: A freshman at Washington State University has died, over two months after the Idaho murder case that rocked the whole of the US. Luke Tyler was reportedly discovered dead inside the University’s Perham Hall dorm on the Pullman campus on January 22.
Shockingly, the dorm is about a mile from where Bryan Kohberger, the suspect in the murders of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin, lived, per Daily Mail. Tyler’s remains were reportedly found after an unidentified person informed the cops. Following the 19-year-old’s death, a petition has been started on Change.org to demand justice and action against the Theta Chi frat house. Interestingly, the dorm is also situated about 10 miles from where the four University of Idaho students were killed.

The petition read, “His death directly followed a long and brutal pledging process sanctioned by his fraternity, Theta Chi,” adding, “Their inhumane and cruel hazing forced Luke, and many others to do things nobody should ever be forced to do. We demand that Theta Chi be investigated, shut down and the fraternity’s president, as well as pledge masters and others with power in the fraternity be investigated for their involvement with the death of Luke Tyler.”
Calling the young man “an amazing person,” the appeal added that Tyler had “an incredible affect on everyone whose life he touched, he deserves Justice. "Please sign to bring awareness to our cause and help bring WSU’s attention to this issue so that those responsible see appropriate consequences, and to help prevent anybody else from being hurt," the petition read.
Besides, a GoFundMe has also been launched for Tyler’s family. The fundraiser read, “Every person who came across Luke would say that he was one of the most sincere and kind individuals they have met. We want to ensure that his name is not forgotten, and to assist his family in these impossibly trying times. We want to give Luke the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes. We are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of Luke’s funeral for his family.”
A lot of people have expressed their condolences below the GoFundMe, with one saying, "My son was friends with Luke and we can’t imagine the sense of loss his family must be feeling. So tragic such a promising young man’s life was cut short. Our condolences to his family and all his other friends who loved him."
Another one added, "As a fellow parent of a WSU student, I stand with you in your grief. Luke sounded like an amazing kid who had a lot to contribute to this world. Sending love and light to all who are grieving this tragedy. May you find comfort in his memory. God Bless."
Meanwhile, cops probing Tyler’s death have currently not claimed any criminal activity in the case but asked people to refrain from spreading controversial theories and/or rumors. A police spokesperson reportedly said, “There has been a significant amount of speculation surrounding the circumstances surrounding this incident and the true cause of the student’s passing. I would caution the public against speculation at this point in the investigation."
"Information is still being gathered on this incident. It could be weeks before the coroner’s office determines the cause and manner of death. We want to ensure that the investigation can proceed smoothly,” police added.
