'Lucifer' Season 5 Part 2: Will God resolve the twins' differences? That and other questions needing answers

'Lucifer' Season 5 Part 2's release date may not be announced yet, however, after bingeing on Part 1, here are some questions that we await answers for

'Lucifer' Season 5 Part 1 ended on a brilliant note with God appearing on Earth to teach his sons a lesson. He appeared with blinding light accompanying him and said how he hated to see his sons fight. Or in this case, squabble because that's what Lucifer, Amenadiel and Michael were doing. We did not see what Michael's plan was exactly, except to learn that it was going to be "epic". Which leads us to our first question.

1. Was Michael's plan to bring God over to Earth? If so why?

The most obvious question that we have is if bringing God over to Earth was Michael's plan all along. He did say that his plan "Spoiler Alert" was going to be epic, to Chloe. What can be more epic than bringing God over to the human plain? But if this was what he had intended all along, why did he want his father to come over? This is one of the biggest questions that we need answered.

2. Will Mazikeen get a soul and a happy ending?

Will Mazikeen learn that her happy ending doesn't require her to have a soul before she loses her close friends? It was because of Lucifer hiding the truth about Lilith giving up her immortality for life as a human that Maze had been extremely upset with him. She believed that Lucifer did not consider her an important part of his life. First, he left her behind, then he made light of it, and finally, he also made fun of the fact that she wanted a soul in the first place. As if demons could get one.

The idea itself seemed alien to Lucifer because according to him, there was no way a demon could get a soul. When Mazikeen attempts to point out that he found true love despite being a fallen angel, he still doesn't understand why Maze feels extremely worried about being left alone. This needs to be resolved in the next part of the season so that we see a different side of their relationship that doesn't involve Maze betraying Lucifer. Again.

3. What made Lucifer invulnerable around Chloe again?

This is a very important question that needs to be addressed irrespective of whether Michael had attempted to manipulate Chloe's fears or not. First, we learned that Lucifer had chosen to be vulnerable around Chloe, symbolizing that he had opened up to her and let her in. Next, we see him lose his mojo to her, which worries him because he is left powerless. So when he realizes that it is his choice to be vulnerable or not around Chloe, did he put his guard back on around her? Also, does this mean that he is not in love with Chloe after all?

This was Chloe's biggest fear, and from the way Lucifer struggled to express his love for Chloe before time froze, we wonder if this is because Lucifer is worried about losing control over his power again. It can't be that Lucifer doesn't love Chloe because, at the end of season 4, he had definitely realized that she was his one true love.

4. Is baby Charlie really mortal?

One of the reasons why Michael was able to surprise Lucifer was because of a surprise that he had sprung on Amenadiel. When Amenadiel's son Charlie got sick and his temperature rose, he took the baby to the hospital with Linda. He also heard from the doctor that it was just a common cold. When Amenadiel was just about to breathe a sigh of relief, Michael manipulated one of the biggest fears that Amenadiel was struggling with. This is the possibility of his child growing up to be a human who has to suffer pain, loss, and more like other humans only to die at the end. This is what caused time to freeze and this is also what stopped Lucifer from telling Chloe 'I love you'.

When Lucifer realizes how Michael played Amenadiel, he tries to convince his brother that evil Michael is only using Charlie as a pawn to manipulate Amenadiel. So does that mean Charlie is not mortal after all?

5. Who is the villain?

The first part of 'Lucifer' Season 5 had #Michaelisadi** trending on Twitter because Lucifer's twin brother was the worst. So we had assumed that he was the villain for the entire season. However, this might not really be the case. You see, with God's arrival, we expect the differences between Michael and Lucifer to be addressed. In addition, in an interview with Variety, Executive producer Joe Henderson had revealed an interesting plotline for the season going forward. He said about God's entry, "Keep in mind who Dan used to date [God’s ex-wife], and the possible implication. You don’t think we’re going to play with that? Every season, we try to torture Dan."

Dan finding out Lucifer was a devil only to go to Charlotte and pray for a sign, the irony was not lost on us. Now imagine him finding out that he dated God's wife and he is on Earth possibly wanting payback. This would be hilarious and it also hints at the direction of the show switching. Will God really become the antagonist of the season with Michael just playing a supporting role to his ambitions?
