LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: During a new episode of her popular 'After the Island' podcast, 'Love Island' alum Elizabeth Weber took the opportunity to address the decision made by Season 5 winners Hannah Wright and Marco Donatelli, as well as Cely and Justine, to turn down the chance to appear on her show.

Weber expressed her disappointment in their refusal, noting that she had hoped to discuss their experiences on her podcast and catch up with them post-fame. The former contestant made it clear that she was eager to connect with her fellow islanders and share their stories with her listeners.

"This is a fun podcast. We support everyone like we're doing this like for fun and anything we say that's like watching like we're like reviewing people on a show like I think people took some things we said like way too seriously," Elizabeth said.

She added, "And not the one episode if you guys are thinking of that's not what I'm talking about it would just be like little things like oh if we said so and so was mean or we said so and so was like whatever like acting like a h*e and then they come on and they're like why you say that about me like that's fun like it's all we're watching this as a TV show like we're not meant to hurt anyone's feelings."

"If we're like rude about anyone so we were like so nice about everyone so then when the winners came off the most recent season I was bummed because I was saying in like all of our episode like I'm voting for them they're my favorite and they gave the most rude decline," the reality TV star continued.

She went on to say, "I was like I was shocked. We were shocked. We were like what do you mean they don't want to come on the podcast and they were like we only want to do like important press opportunities and I'm like this is important to the community and fans of the show like come on so they and that's a huge bummer."

Despite the rejection, Weber remains committed to providing her audience with engaging content and continues to invite past contestants to share their perspectives on the podcast.

Elizabeth Weber reveals she started her ‘After the Island’ podcast in her parents' basement

During the podcast episode, Elizabeth Weber shared that she launched her podcast, 'After the Island', from the comfort of her parents' basement.

She started the episode by saying, "Hey guys, welcome back to 'After the Island' or 'Love After' depending on which kind of episode you're going to end up clicking but I really wanted to do a tell-all episode so if you're new here, my name is Elizabeth I did season one of Love Island USA and I started this podcast with my best friend Alex Stewart."

"We had the most incredible journey with this podcast and I don't think the story is over for us but take a listen to hear kind of our whole journey everything we went through with this podcast," she added.

Elizabeth said, "Let's go all the way back to where this podcast first started. Alex and I went back to my parents' house during Covid I was like look I can't be in LA there's like riots happening all over West Hollywood. Stores were getting smashed into which was like separate then. I was like I need to get out of here Alex you should come with me."

"We were there we slept in my parents basement every night we were partying and going out for dinners. It was special and just incredible and we were like let's start a podcast. We tried to film the first episode at rush hour," she continued.

However, the duo faced some technical and audio issues. Then, they decided to go to the basement of Elizabeth's parents' house, set up a desk, and began filming.

'Love Island' star Elizabeth Weber shares some previous winners didn’t ‘even respond’ to her

In the same episode, Elizabeth revealed that some past show winners did not acknowledge her email.

Talking of the exit interviews, Elizabeth Weber shared, "People declined them and didn't want to do their show and that just sucked and started more of a trend of like people not wanting to come on and this and that and I think games was hard because it was a lot of people that already had like egos from Oh I'm this I'm like too big now to do the podcast."

She added, "Honestly it was a bummer and some of them like I thought were closer than that and it was uncomfortable when I got some like weird responses and then some people didn't even respond like it was a little shocking to have like stars like Justine and Sky for instance they were the stars of the games and to not have them come on it felt weird."
