'Love Is Blind': Amber cries in her wedding dress and tells the other brides there's a chance Matt will say no
Meeting the parents for the first time can be stressful. As Amber Pike and Matt Barnett of 'Love Is Blind' drive to her parent's house, Matt grows anxious. Later, he finds out he didn't have anything to worry at all.
Amber's mother, Vickie, sure was worried and so, asked direct questions at first but that was only because she wanted to understand if her daughter was in good hands. Once she was certain, she asked how they met and upon learning the concept of the pods (where couples interact via mics embedded in adjoining rooms that are separated by a wall) she laughed and gave her approval. Matt was relieved.
But, Amber felt differently when she visited Matt's parents' house. Even though she expressed herself well and was very forthcoming of her and Matt's situation, Danny (Matt's brother) wasn't fully convinced. He pointed out that the couple shares a spark and that is what is driving them into this marriage, but a decade later things will start to get real. Later, Danny even questions Matt if he understands the gravity of the situation.
Matt was sure of what he was getting himself into but was deeply disappointed that his family seemed off about the whole social experiment he is a part of. Post the meet-up, Amber asks Matt that if there were ever a problem between her and his family, whose side would he pick? Matt's silence and incessant "I don't knows" was hard to take for Amber, but she did get an answer.
A couple of days ahead of the wedding, the to-be-brides - Amber, Lauren Speed, Jessica Batten, Kelly Chase, Giannina Milady Gibelli - are called to a bridal boutique to pick out gowns of their choice for the wedding. And it was nothing short of an emotional rollercoaster.
Amber poses in her wedding gown, in tears while she shares with her girls how overwhelmed she is considering there's a chance that Matt may say no to all of what is happening. Meanwhile, Mark is stress-free and more than happy to walk down the aisle. But soon all of that changes when the wedding expenses come into the picture. Amber shares her wedding dress alterations will alone cost a whopping $850.
Even though Matt felt pressured about the idea of having to deal with so much at once, especially financially, he closed the conversation with her by saying: "let's see where all of this ends up." A couple of days ahead of their special day, Matt surprises Amber with food and wine at a remote location, which was all about peace, quiet and a good view.
